Pavlik has Taylor's Syndrome. Once you get to "the top of the mountain" and suffer your first loss you start falling off and will never get back on.
i dont know, i think that the second cut had a big impact on the fight, notice that when the blood started flowing, (8th round i think) was the round in which martinez started his final rally.(the blood may have re energized martinez, or affected pavlik badly).
what was interesting and Manny Stewart pointed it out. After round 9 Kelly hinted that he wanted to quit, and his trainer wouldnt allow. I'm starting to question his heart.
Even between rounds in the first third of the fight, Pavlik's own comments were inaudible, but HBO's audio crew clearly picked up Loew saying "I don't wanna hear that ****!" several times.
i think kelly said, "i cant see" then loew responded with, "don't say that, there gona stop the fight."
Pavlik just doesn't have the talent to compete at the highest level. Martinez is a very good fighter. I wish he'd stop dropping his hands though.
Martinez by KO.....The counter-puncher has much more room for improvement, then the come froward pressure fighter...
