If Chagaev lends anything he wins by KO.

Moorer by grevious bodily harm. To beat Moorer you needed a big punch (Tua, Foreman) or a very high work rate (Holyfield ll). Chagaev is a plodder, not much of a puncher, and absoloutley no imagination. Moorer would time Chagaevs leads and beat him to the punch all night long. Chagaev would eventually get stopped or would quit

This is not even worth making a thread about, anyone with eyes can see that Moorer was way way better, and beat better opposition.

    Close thread.

Seems a little one - sided here. Michael Moorer for all his talent could be very disinterested in fighting and winning. Teddy Atlas' silly pep talks played a vital role in his great win over Holyfield, he almost would have given up on that fight. He barely SD'd Axel Schulz, who was two levels below him in talent. Say what you will about Chagaev, he always really tried his best. Moorer's dominance at LHW is not more impressive as a pre - HW indication of talent than Chagaev's great amateur career and two wins over Savon.

Michael Moorer should win, but he also should have beaten Foreman. Would he actually? I wouldn't bet too much on Moorer, just based on his superior ability.

Prime Moorer was a light heavyweight.

I'd probably pick the best heavyweight Moorer over the best Chagaev, but people forget that Chagaev was once pretty good. He hasn't been the same fighter since he contracted hepatitis.

Absolutley , Moorer is still probably the better of the two but Moorers less than stellar chin makes it 50 -50.

Moorer , by close UD ( getting off the floor )

Chagaev was pretty good back in april of 07 when he beat Valuev. I actually enjoyed watching that fight. Since then he has done nothing and looked like **** in every match after that. His best wins were against Valuev, Ruiz, and Virchis. All by SD or majority decision. He has never beat a good heavyweight decisively. His skills are above average only. Moorer was a good puncher, with an underrated skillset. He was a fighter that came up in the 90's, which was one of the best heavyweight decades.

I see Moorer outboxing him at a distance, and landed effectively against the slower Chagaev. Chagaev is not much of a puncher, so I doubt he will be able to knock Moorer out and I really dont see him getting on the inside often enough to land the hook. Moorer by wide UD.
