PTP, he was a machine. Canelo's gas tank gets exposed hard in this match-up. I don't think Canelo is capable of finding the one big punch to avoid his fate Martinez II style. (for that matter, I'm not sure he even punches harder than Margarito, who landed a zillion punches on Williams)

I'll go with Paul Williams. It's truly a crime how underrated and unappreciated Paul Williams is.

Man it's a shame this fight didn't go down in 2012. Would have been a great fight. I'd favor Canelo. He's just too sharp IMO for Paul Williams.

Oh wow, that's right. I forgot Williams vs. Canelo was about to happen when Paul got in the motorcycle accident.

    Great match up.

Canelo likes to lean back and slip and parry shots on the inside and come back with his own combos. He really is a very good in fighter. However, he can fight at a pedestrian pace at times so how would he cope with Williams none stop throwing?

I have a feeling that Williams could out hustle down the stretch.

This would be a terrific fight

I was so bummed out that Williams got into that accident, first obviously because it ruined his life, but I was certain he was going to badly expose Canelo.

TBH I thought Mosley and Trout we're going to expose Canelo, He has proven me wrong and I became a believer and a fan, Williams had a tough style but is very limited compared to Canelo IMO it's a 50/50 fight.

Prime Williams beats Alvarez IMO. The version who was going to fight him a few years ago before the accident however does not.

Williams walks onto stupid shots which plays into Canelo ' hands but Canelo only works 30% of the round which plays into Williams hands.

Prime Williams puts it on Canelo. Too high of a work rate, too much reach and length. And the younger Williams could take a licken and keep on ticking. He would eat Canelo for breakfast. Hell, Canelo may quit on his stool from the high pace.

Prime Paul Williams was throwing like 100 punches a round. That type of activity would make it hard for Canelo to win on decision.

Would also have given Canelo plenty of chances to connect.

No reason to believe a guy who lost to Quintana won't be beat by
a superior and bigger boxer in Canelo.
