For me he's shown signs of decline ever since the Pianeta fight. He's not as well coordinated as he was, during his prime he was rarely off balance but you look at some of his recent fights he's looked a little cumbersome at odd moments which isn't something we're used to seeing from Wlad.

His jab is also gone, it's not as authoritative as it used to be, he paws with it way too much, he'd do it a lot in his prime as well but interspersed between the odd hard jab but now all we get is that pawing jab.

Fact is Wlad hasn't looked good since Pulev almost 2 years ago. He struggled with Jennings, losing 5 rounds on my scorecard and was then schooled in a dull affair against Fury. He's also been inactive for a year, for a boxer in their 40's that's far more detrimental. For me Wlad is no where near prime right now which is why this fight is competitive. Since his peak, Wlad has never been more vulnerable than now.

AJ beats him but the main point is that these tyoe of fights need to happen or Wlad should retire.

No one actually expects Wlad to win.I'd be very surprised if his fans would want him to take this fight.

They probably prefer Wlad v Oquendo for the WBA

Wlad has historically fought the best available guy and as a result has developed a fanbase of people who enjoy watching a fighter take on the best available person. You're deluded.

Yeah but I'd be surprised to see any fans of his pushing for this fight at his age.

    I won't call you deluded.

No idea. Wlad's been off for a year and looked like **** his last go around. No telling how he'll be going into his next fight. Of course, he's over 40 now and fighters don't age like wine.

In all honesty...I have no idea.

If AJ is worth half of the hype that he has received (i think he it is due but has flaws) then he can give a 40+ fighter like Wlad all sorts of trouble. Assuming AJ gets his foot and head movement working early, he will give Wlad a tough fight.
Movement and size was the reason that Fury got to Wlad. I don't believe 'Wlad failed to turn up' to that fight...

Fury had a gameplan and executed it excellently. More so than what I believed he was capable, hats off to the fella.
Personally, I believe AJ is a much better boxer than Fury, but if he fails to utilize his natural advantages (youth, speed, size) then Wlad has every chance to put a bump in the road for the youngsters career path.

Its essentially a win win fight for AJ though. If he was to lose, he lost to an HOF'er (whether you like him or not...) and it should not derail his career to the point that he cant fight back to the top a year later.

If hes to win, his hype will increase ten fold.

Joshua is all hype. Wlad has aged and might just catch this guy with a left hook.
Question: how much stamina does Wlad have left? People are younger then their chronologigal age these days, so don't be surprised.

Anthony Joshua is the HW champ of sweet FA. If he's gonna claim that, then so will I.

You think AJ is a "much better boxer" than Fury? Stick to rugby, bro.

Looks Like Wlad is done but you never AJs head movement is pretty weak and you've got to think Wlad can still hit so....
