I doubt Kovalev ever fought at over 200 lbs.

It’s possible that I said that because Johnson spent chunks of his prime in the 180 and 90s, which is about what Kovalev is on fight night.

That was not the Johnson who fought Ketchel.

Prime Kovalev wasnt that big of a light heavy. Around 181 ~ 184 would be my guess. Maybe even smaller in ring.

I guess everyone with more than a passing interest in the era knows that Johnson weighed 2051/5 lbs for the Ketchel fight.

Seeing what a past it Papke did to Carpentier on the inside, probably explains why Ketchel did so much wrestling.

Seriously, watch Papke fight with Carpentier, he was very tough to look good against. Ketchel did better than Papke in their series means that he knew what to do against him.

I wouldn't mind if he used the Quote function. Just as long as he used one of them

Ketchel was a real Full time, year round Professional fighter, he fought in bars, on the street, for money anywhere it was offered or just to fight, he partied hard at times, but trained more and harder than anyone even close to today's fighters, he would have eventually Knocked him out, Ketchel by KO< he could go 50 rounds.
