    In Germany?

    I picture it like this:
Calzaghe kills Ottke in the ring, around about round 6. The referee then ties Otke's corpse upright in a neutral corner. He then shoots Calzaghe in both kneecaps. When Joe falls down he starts to count him out then waves the fight off, proclaiming Ottke the winner by KO.

If it happened in any other country?
Ottke's promoter shoots him before the fight happens, cause he knows Ottke will lose and he is now worth less as a fighter then he is as an insurance payout.

How would it go in Cardiff? Calzaghe gets him against the ropes, throws 20 punches, misses everything and the ref stops it.

i presume you are talking about the manfredo fight there my friend?

let me just cast your mind back to another fight which happend in Cardiff, the Kessler unification fight, the one were Calzaghe changed his game plan mid fight afeter he realised he was loosing to beat an undefeated prime WBA and WBC world champ?

you can dismiss the manfredo fight now as i think that Kessler is a few leagues higher and manfredo was getting his arse whooped anyways regardless of a premature stoppage :hi:

Calzaghe by second round stoppage. Ottke is the biggest fraud in boxing history.

that my friend is a lame attempt to argue your case i was setting the record straight as in Calzaghe is a miles better fighter than manfredo and that was going to happen wether the ref stopped it or not, and the second part doesnt even make sence :hi: please come back with an decent argument or stop with the commenting :good

Sorry, i thought you would be able to read between the lines, but i can spell it out for you if you cant understand.

Maybe Joe would have beaten Ottke. But it seems there is alot of shots been taken by Calzaghe fans at Ottke for not fighting outside Germany and for getting dodgy home decisions.

Calzaghe did not fight outside Cardiff for most of his career. Even in his best fight which you listed there, he made Kessler go to Cardiff to fight him.

Sure he was probably going to win the Manfredo fight, but it was a dodgy decisions. Whether he had better victories in Cardiff is beside the point.

Both were guilty of the same things, I don't see the difference really. Maybe Calzaghe fans should be careful what they say about Ottke? Maybe, i dont know i'm not a doctor.

Ottke (much like Calzaghe) sums up a lot about what is wrong with boxing, but the idea that him and Calzaghe are leagues apart is simply not true, Calzaghe was better and I'd tip him to win, but there's not a great deal in it if truth be known.

Lets put it this way, Ottke is much better than Kessler, yes thats right Ottke is better than Kessler (please don't cry about this statement Clazaghe nutters) and Ottke would push Calzaghe all the way.

You mean the Ottke who was being beaten by Mundine?

Mundine who was in his 11th fight at that point (no amateur career)

Mundine who went on to improve out of sight - and then get thrashed by Kessler?

Unfortunately for Ottke, Kessler doesn't have a glass jaw.

It is true that people under-rate Ottke because they simply hate him. It is fair to have no respect for him as a person. However, to be truly fair also means admitting that he was a pretty good boxer.

But he gets beaten by both Kessler and Calzaghe 100 fights out of 100.

If he had fought the version of Mundine that Kessler did, he would get beaten 90 times out of 100.

Ottke had something like, what, 250 fights as an amateur and a pro? He was being outskilled and outboxed by a guy in his 11th fight. Now, I am glad that the loud mouthed cocksmoker called Mundine was KTFO by the featherfisted Ottke. It was great that he got humilated. But for Ottke to have been outboxed by a rookie was equally humiliating.

Calzaghe fought in Cardiff in 16 out of 46 fights. Fighting the likes of Reid, Woodhall and Eubank in Sheffield and Newcastle was a far more hostile and partizan crowd experience than he would have faced in the US or the notoriously silent German boxing halls.

Ottke would be a tricky fight, despite what people wih to believe, he was a decent boxer with quick hands and feet, did just enough to steal rounds wihtout really imposing himself and was hard to tag.

He could frustrate Calzaghe for a few rounds but would most likely be worn down to a TKO or clear points win.
