Who wins the intimidation war between vitali and tyson?

yes he did until Buster Douglas kicked his ass. It all went away after that.

Hell Holyfield intimidated Tyson. Before the 2nd fight Mike would not even look him in the eye.

Jose Torres has a great quote about Mike being the intimidator and then becoming the intimidated later in his career.

 

On this issue, apart from being very big I don't think either of teh Klits look that "mean" or scary. Tyson was literaly an animal back in the day... and "the baddest man on the planet"...

 

Tyson was a beast, but fat too weak of mind and body to intimidate Vitali. Hell the build up would probably have iron mike backing out vs kevlar klitschko.....

Wouldn't matter... they would both get in the ring and do their job and Vit's not going to hold off a prime Tyson with a basic 1-2 like he does these other guys. Prime Tyson isn't Sam Peter, he would get past that jab and all up in that ass before the end of the first round.

 

That's not strictly true, Tyson was up to all sorts of stuff by that point. Partying all night, crashing his cars into trees... he was on a crash cause and little ever out the news. The discipline had already gone... That's not some lame excuse, he was honestly all over the news around that time for misbehavin... and partying... he was getting progressively worse behaved... it was always going to come to a sticky end, and that night was it.

 

Mike was ALWAYS a nervous fighter, it added to his ferocity once the bell sounded. Like every quality professional fighter, he used that fear instead of letting it kill him.

His intimidation aura came from the horrible beatings he put on fighters in his prime, not from him trying to look and act hard. The acting hard routine came after his performance in the ring started to suffer.

 

He's the only fighter I ever heard of with that kind of talent who was already declining before he ever won the championship. Such a goddam shame he didn't have the mentality to match his talent.

 

I don't give a **** about any of his excuses, if he was so damn great why make excuses for him//????
Bottom line he got an ass whuppin by guy's that wern't afraid of him..

I'm ALWAYS one to bring Tyson down a peg when some rabid fan goes on about how Ironic Mike is the greatest, most gifted and powerful HW in history. But here's a case where I'll pick Mike as the more intimidating of the 2. Looks alone do not make you intimidating. Kimbo Slice is a scary looking dude. Most men would **** themselves if they had to throw hands with Kimbo. But do you think for one second that an aptly skilled professional boxer would be intimidated by him? If you do, you're wrong. A cold stare from the Pre-Douglas Wrecking Ball Tyson was enough to make a grown man cry. One can argue that his staredowns were every bit as instrumental in his fights as his left hook!
