I think it's pretty clear it took Ward some rounds to figure Kovalev out. Now that it's apparent he did just that around the sixth and boxed him comfortably from then until the end, he'll have that first hand experience going into the rematch and it'll be easier for him.

Kovalev by knockout, Kovalev can't win a decision against Ward in VEGAS because the judges are crooked as I predicted. Kovalev should have knocked Ward out instead of outboxing him. All Ward did was wrestle..............the crowd booed the criminal decision. Kovalev will knock him out if the fight again, which Kovalev's contract says................I knew the decision was going to be crooked from watching the undercard. Perez easily outboxed Hook, easily and some others.............the crowd knew................Lederman had it 116 - 111 for Kovalev, and I agree.............

Ward. He won the second half of the fight and that momentum carries into the second.

I think either Ward wins a wider decision or Kovalev gets enough knockdowns (or the KO) for the win. Ward has the better timing and Kovalev would need to take shots to get off sterner work and look for the more hurtful, krushing attacks.

I favour Ward in a rematch but it's important, I think, for a great fighter in Kovalev to have his chance to respond and show how well he can adapt and rebound.
