Fernando Montiel v's Cristian Mijares It's a fight I would love to see, and am split on the outcome. Montiel just looked fantastic in his last fight against Castillo, bringing himself back up in my estimation of him as a fighter. Mijares has always looked a great fighter, ever since I first saw him against Arce. Who do you think would win, and why would they win?
I really like the idea of this fight! I think Mijares would take the fight on points! The man is crazy fast and he would steal a lot of the early rounds. I think Montiel would come back in the middle and late rounds, but would lose one or two of the later rounds, giving Mijares a 115-113 win.

I need to see more of Miajres before making a pick. Montiel is a favorite of mine. I love the way he attacks the body. His fight with Melendez was one of the best of 2007.
It's too bad more people don't watch the smaller classes. They are often the most exciting! I say this because to me right now this is the most interesting thread, and it seems everyone else wants to talk about Calzaghe admitting he hit Bernard with a low blow. Who the **** cares? Dirty tactics in boxing? get the **** out!
Vazquez-Arce would be destructive. I think a great fight well it lasted. I'd take Vazquez in a KO in 6.
Cristian Mijares is one hell of a boxer, he has got some great technique. The way he dismantled Arce was totally unexpected. Larry and Jim had blood stains on their shirts, thats the beating Mijares was giving Arce. I do believe Arce would do better if given a rematch, but make no mistake Mijares is the real deal. The fight I would really want to see is Mijares vs Doniare. Nonito Doniare has got some nice skills, this would make a great Mexico vs Philipines battle.
The Mijares vs. Donaire fight would be interesting. I'd take Mijares in that fight too though! I think Mijares is the slickest boxer right now in these smaller weights and there aren't many guys that I think would beat him!
