It's only fair if we're doing prime for both. I would 100% back prime Makhmudov to KO prime Price. and think there's a very strong possibility that Makhmudov today would beat the undefeated Price who demolished the British domestic scene. Price simply couldn't take a punch and if he tasted any heavy leather he would almost certainly mentally check out.
Absolute shootout, but got to go for the main man Pricey and his massive suit. Whoever lands first, really, but I'd be backing Big Suit.
Makhmudov has wins over Rice (KO7), 41 Takam (UD10), 42 Wach (KO6), Allen (UD12). He's lost to Kabayel (KO4), Vianello (TKO8), Fury (UD12). Price's best win is probably Allen (RTD10). He lost to 41 Thompson x2 (KO2, KO5), Teper (KO2), Hammer (KO7), Povetkin (KO5), Kuzmin (KO4), Chisora (KO4). Old Takam may be the best win between them, and Rice was tricker than Allen. Price dropped Thompson, Hammer and Povetkin but couldn't keep them down. He never scored a win at "Euro level" or above, even Hammer was too much. Price has better conventional skills, both big punchers, but Makhmudov has the better record, is more aggressive, has better stamina, mentality and a stronger chin, so Price would likely get steamrolled inside 2 rounds.
I’d have to go with Mak.Price has the pedigree and power,Mak has that rawness and power and like mentioned is more durable, better stamina, better mental strength, better chin. Price could well be dangerous the first few rounds but after that the pressure from Mak starts to get to Price and probably gets stopped inside 4-5 rounds possibly earlier .
Price is weird he looked like a really good to great prospect - he even won espn’s prospect of the year, he went from looking really good to looking like absolute rubbish once he lost to Thompson. Was like his whole career vanished that fight. He did give it a great try against Povetkin
I'll go with Price he atleast stopped Dave Allen whilst past his prime. Makhmudov went 12 rounds with Dave Allen in a pretty bad fight. And whilst Price had a shaky chin. Makhmudov has also suffered 2 stoppage losses in his career aswell. So his chin is maybe not the best either it's just Fury is not a big puncher and is washed. I think Price is a level about Makhmudov in technique and has the power to get him out of there.
Makhmudov is definitely mentally tougher and has a better chin, and that should be enough to outlast Price and stop him.
