    Maidana or Matthysse . Most people think Provodnikov would give em hell because of his performance against Bradley , but i doubt it . Lucas or Marcos are not featherfisted like Bradley is , 2 different types of animals .

    indeed, Matthysse and Maidana can punch unlike Bradley and they have tough chins too, especially Matthysse.

    Into a final between Matthysse and Maidana I think Lucas takes Maidana cuz Lucas is a better boxer, has better accuracy and coordination, better chin and better power than Maidana. Anyway it would be a tough fight for both.

    I know that Maidana beat once or twice Matthysse at the ams but now Matthysse is a totally different fighter .

    Matthysse.

    I've always picked him over Maidana (since 2010) in a headgear-free rekindling of their very close amateur rivalry in which Maidana went 2-0-1 - barely edging him twice and drawing once.

    He does everything better than Provodnikov, who does have considerable power and durability but not cut from the same cloth as Matthysse.

    Alvarado is a brave warrior but would inevitably be caught, hurt, and eventually stopped.

    I'll give this one to Maidana, since Lucas hasn't fought at 147 yet. Maidana is at least more acclimated to that division.

    He looked improved against Martinez (FWIW :!:) and Josesito, but let's not forget how abysmal his welterweight debut was.

    So while Matthysse hasn't even yet set foot at 147, in reality Maidana has one credible good performance against someone with a pulse there. (along with a meaningless tune-up over before it started, and the lopsided defeat to Alexander)

    I'd hardly say MRM has settled in and made himself at home there. One decent victory doesn't say "well acclimated" to me. Now, beating up Josesito was a great start and if he can replicate that success a couple more times - yes he does become a legit top welter.

    If Maidana would've beaten Alexander, now he'd have been considered by many people a legit ww but he didn't.

    I'm pretty sure if Matthysse will fight Garcia and beat him, he'll be chosen to fight Floyd @ 147 and then probably he'll stay out there and maybe fight Maidana .

    :yep The problem is that I didn't see any official news about a possible fight between Matthysse and Garcia. Nothing new yet. :think

    Anyway, even if Garcia rejects the fight with Lucas from whatever stupid reasons, I think Matthysse still will move up at ww cuz @ 140 he doesn't have too many options besides Garcia of course. At 147 he can have JMM, Bradley, his fellow countryman in Maidana, Broner ?:hey and of course he'll have the opportunity to avenge his questionable loss by rematching Alexander. :yep
