Random matchups Id be interested in seeing your takes.... ...... Best Chisora vs Lamon Brewster Ibeabuchi vs Mike Tyson Usyk vs Liston Sam Peter vs AJ Tommy Morrison vs Wilder Zhang vs Briggs Fury vs Marciano ....... Adamek vs Beterbiev ..... Cheers
Id have to go with the best version of Chisora, although not confidently I'd favour Tyson over Ibeabuchi but again, not confidently - obviously we didn't get to see Ike's career play out, and I know Mike could get disheartened but still gotta go with Tyson in this one Usyk beats 'the Big Bear' although it would be interesting seeing Usyks off-beat movement Vs Liston's sometimes off-beat offense (and I don't mean off-beat as in mis-timed) I think Peter's bravado, toughness and power gets the job done against a mentally fragile AJ, although theres always a chance with AJs power Morrison likely elects to box the way he did foreman, staying out of the fire, but can't help feeling he gets poleaxed midfight, Wilder KO Zhang over Briggs - the size and power would be too much although I expect Briggs to give a good show of himself and maybe tighten the rounds up when Zhang's tank empties Fury over Marciano, height reach and weight would be too much of a factor and Rocky was too basic to beat Fury imo, particularly as a cruiserweight by today's standards Beterbiev over Adamek after getting outboxed early
-Absolute Prime Brewster because he has greater power for a phone-booth war -Prime Tyson because the defense and hand-speed. He's playing three dimensional chess over Ike -Sorry, but Usyk easily beats Liston. Sonny's four best wins were against guys who would be small cruisers today. Plus he hated movers. - AJ...Peter was one of the worst hype jobs I have ever seen. Even his vaunted power was overrated, and he had no technical skills. - Wilder. Morrison was a meth head that did a lot of steroids and still had a lot of physical frailty. And everyone knows what I think of Wilder, so I am telling it like it is. - Zhang has too many punches in the arsenal from the tricky southpaw stance for the ordinary Briggs. - I will pick Marciano against all logic and fight it to the death, and I don't care. No, Marciano never fought anyone 6'7" (and that is all he really is). But Fury never faced a two-fisted power puncher who could throw 94 power punches in the 15th round of a fight. Beterbiev but he has to be prepared to go long. Adamek had a hell of a chin in his prime.
For me Best Chisora vs Lamon Brewster : Very hard to call. Would not be surprising in the least if Brewster bombs him out Haye style, or Chisora weathers the power early and mid to take over late. I think Chisora is just hittable enough that Brewsters power stamps the fight though. Ill go Brewster by SD due to a couple KDs in an otherwise competitive battle. Ibeabuchi vs Mike Tyson : Ill go Ike to bully the bully. Usyk vs Liston : Usyk Sam Peter vs AJ : Tough matchup for my boy AJ. Peter had a stark decline I feel though after his Wlad fight, with a brief resurgence in the Toney rematch. I think a post Wlad Peter could be susceptible to AJs power and straight punches... but I think Peters brief peak, especially the form against wlad the first fight, would be a bit too much for AJ. So while I think more versions of AJ beat more versions of Peter, and hes a greater fighter, i think best vs best Peters a bit wrong for him and would come out with the W. Tommy Morrison vs Wilder : Dont know enough about Tommy. Zhang vs Briggs : I think Ill go with Briggs here. I think he would out tough Zhang after getting beat up early, and score a come from behind stoppage. Fury vs Marciano : Fury. Too big too good. ....... Adamek vs Beterbiev : Have to go with Biev here but I could use a refresher on peak Adamek. .....
Best Chisora vs Lamon Brewster Chisora UD Ibeabuchi vs Mike Tyson Tyson KO Usyk vs Liston Usyk KO Sam Peter vs AJ AJ KO Tommy Morrison vs Wilder Wilder KO Zhang vs Briggs Zhang KO Fury vs Marciano Fury UD Adamek vs Beterbiev Beterbiev KO
Great matchups. All at their best, I'd go: Brewster decision in a war, floors Chisora with a left hook at some point. Tyson decision in a really rough fight Usyk decision with some difficult moments/rounds. Joshua decision or late TKO. Peter has a bit of a puncher's chance before he turned "boxer" post-Wlad 1 when his chin was never the same. Otherwise, Joshua is just much more skilled and Peter had huge defensive issues. Morrison KO? Whoever lands big first wins, though IMO. Could easily be Wilder KO1 within the first two minutes. Younger Briggs could outbox him and stop Zhang late, but he would be in danger in the early/middle portions. Older Briggs had equally bad stamina as Zhang, so I don't know. Gun to my head at their best, Briggs. Fury's just too big for Marciano. Physics matter, especially when combined with Fury's good movement and decent skills. Beterbiev grinds Adamek down and stops him. Adamek brave, but too hittable.
Brewster just strikes me as a higher quality of fighter. Tyson crushes the hype-job. Easily. Usyk makes Liston look like a day 1 beginner. This is interesting. AJ is a much better fighter but after the Ruiz and Dubois bouts I really struggle to see AJ beating a tough dude that can crack and walk him down without fear. I'll say AJ but I wouldn't be surprised for a second if Peter randomly chinned him. Wilder knocks him across the ring. Briggs gets decapitated, Zhang's way too skilled for him. Fury, let's not get ridiculous here, we all know who is the more skilled boxer here and bullying 40 year old LHWs is a bit different than bullying a man that is 9 inches taller and 75 lbs heavier than you. Don't know much about Adamek.
Chisora close points win at his best, could go either way. Mike Tyson sparks Ike early. Ike had some good wins but prime Mike Tyson is a completely different animal. Usyk boxes Liston to a very wide UD. AJ better than Peter IMO and stops him early. Peter had no technical ability and wouldn't be far off the AJ V Ngannou fight. Wilder knocks out Morrison in the mid rounds in a close and cagey fight up to that point. I think Zhang would get to Briggs first and stop him early. But if it goes long the Briggs has a chance. Fury too big for Marciano. Fury V Frazier would be a better match-up here. Beterbiev TKO.
-Brewster KO -Tyson UD -Usyk TKO -Wanna say AJ KO, but far from confident. Sam Peter would touch him, and Joshua just can’t recover. -Wilder KO -Zhang KO -Fury UD -Beterbiev TKO in FOTY. Goral was good at 175, but he was elite at 200, his best weight.
Chisora Tyson before 1990, Ibeabuchi after 1990 Usyk AJ before the fight with Ruiz 1, Peter after the fight AJ Vs. Ruiz 1 Wilder Zhang Fury
Brewster by KO Tyson UD AJ by KO Usyk wide UD Wilder by KO Zhang by UD Fury by TKO Not sure about Adamek
Best Chisora vs Lamon Brewster - Brewster by KO Ibeabuchi vs Mike Tyson - best Tyson beats best Ibeabuchi by KO Usyk vs Liston - Usyk Sam Peter vs AJ - Peter, but if AJ boxed carefully like in Ruiz II he might win Tommy Morrison vs Wilder - close one, I'd say Wilder but whoever lands a big punch first Zhang vs Briggs - Zhang by KO Fury vs Marciano - in a fair fight, with Fury not being allowed to wear his trunks up to his tits, Marciano wins by body punches Adamek vs Beterbiev - I loved Adamek, but I think Beterbiev would break him down
Brewster wins a close, controversial SD in a slugfest Tyson KO, mainly just because we don't know that much about Ike. Dude could've been one of the best ever but we'll never know... Usyk wins in a repeat of Liston-Ali 1 AJ KOs Peter. Or at most AJ gets knocked out then comes back and wins the rematch Morrison from the Foreman fight toys with Wilder and wins wide. Every other Morrison is winning but gets stopped late. Zhang KO. Briggs was nothing special Fury in a dominant win. But Marciano would be a cruiserweight, would probably make LHW easily Beterbiev wins by execution. And I really like Adamek.
