115-113 Bivol. And a 115-113 score card usually means there is a fair chance it could've gone either way because the rounds are very close so I can never scream out robbery. I just wanna see the rematch in Vegas or New York somewhere.
I turned the fight off after 12th assured Bivol won...didnt even hear the scorecards. Left the fight feeling Bivol won and I bet Beterbiev up and down. It was very close but I like clean work and almost all the clean work was Bivol. By all means, Beterbiev pressed the majority of the fight but his punches seemed to be partially blocked most of the time...dont know if I saw one clean flush Beterbiev punch all night.
On a first viewing, I'd say 114 - 114 or 115 - 113 for either is acceptable. I will say that ABs physicality and damaging shots did make him look a more dominant ring general in the rounds he was quite active, which absolutely influences scoring.
In Canelo Bivol we also had a close decision despite Canelo being schooled and only hitting arms and gloves. It appears that in todays boxing reality they simply score blocked shots as landed shots. Go figure.
That's the difference innit. Beterbiev won the championship rounds to secure a come from behind victory.
I had it 7-5 Bivol. Thought a draw was fair outcome. Beterbiev came on down the stretch and took final 3 rounds on my card. Still a little difficult to give him 7 rounds. I Don’t think Bivol deserved to lose. A draw would have been best outcome. Imo
You don't win by standing and trading punches with a ko monster like Beterbiev. I agree simply "running" doesn't win you fights but Bivol was punching as he moved. In fact he threw and landed more by "running" than AB did by moving forward.
Funny thing...Bivol said his eye looked bad because his own gloves hit his eye by AB punching his gloves.
Lol..read my post above. Bivol said his eye was hit with his own gloves when AB hit his gloves! I've never seen that happen.
