If you think about it its crazy that beterbiev won the last 3 rounds. Bivol being younger shoukd hsve cruised to a wide ud there.
I hope people will now forget about having Bivol in the top 5 pound for pound, he couldn't beat a 39 year old coming off knee surgery.
7-5 Bivol. He landed the cleaner punches throughout the fight. aggression is only the decider if the amount of clean punches landed between both fighters is roughly similar. Bivol also won the 12th for me
I didn’t score rounds, but it really felt like Bivol pretty much out boxed Beterbiev for a large majority of the fight with like 2 or 3 shaky moments… It seemed to me that Bivol won clearly in a competitive bout. Interesting how different people’s perspectives can be. When I heard the decision, I felt like it was a robbery. After seeing many fans who agree with the decision, I’m willing to chalk it up to different perspectives… but I for sure didn’t see a Beterbiev win.
7-5 Beterbiev, but thought 7-5 either way, at a push 8-4, I couldn't really argue. Lots of close rounds. Bivol fought well. Beterbiev came on strong.
This is actually the elephant in the room. 40 year old man comming from a knee injury and he performs physically better than a 33 yo top notch guy. Everybody sees that as something completely normal it seems.
I had Bivol, but just barely. Disappointed in the result, but I can't argue it because as soon as the final bell rang I felt like it was 115-113 either way or draw worthy. Gutted for Bivol, but time is on his side. This man will be undisputed at 175, because I fully believe there's not another man in the division right now that gives him a close fight like this. Plus, assuming Beterbiev retires or moves up like some are calling for, there's a chance his fans get the fun of watching him gather the belts up one by one
