Cotto for me with no bias because I like Cotto. Clottey had the man seeing out of just one eye but didn't take advantage.
i had cotto by 1 point. but the rounds that clottey won were much more decisive and one-sided as opposed to cotto doing just enough to win his rounds. hands down clottey had a better fight overall. i guess this is a downside of scoring a fight by rounds...the fighter who did better lost. plus i'm sure arum told the judges to lean towards cotto to set up a super fight with pacquiao.

"Who do you guys feel won the fight?" This is what I wrote in my opening post. It's clearly asking for personal opinions on who individuals feel should've gotten the decision. Boxrec simply lists factual results as to actually won or lost a fight. Quite simply put, boxrec doesn't achieve the result that the thread seeks.:good
if you score the whole fight = clottey if you score it round for round (as it should) = cotto i liked how cotto chose to stay and fight with that eye even when he was leading and could have the fight stopped. he was a champ then. clottey had it to win after the cut. I still can't understand why he let it go? does blood turn him off or something?
I sit and picture Clottey being asked why he wouldn't take advantage of the bloody Cotto and he says "I am a true fightah, but I find blood to be too icky."
Clottey gave this fight away with his inactivity! And with this fight being held in NYC on the night before the Puerto Rican day Parade...There was NO WAY Clottery was going to get a Close Decision. One of my favorite Boxing Writers Vivek Wallace said it best in his Article after the fight: "Clottey won the fight, Cotto won the Decision".
Did you notice how Lampley had mentioned this very political point before the fight with Clottey and Clottey acknowledged it immediately in the post fight interview, but acted as though he didn't feel he did anything but dominate and it was all political? He really should have known better. But maybe he felt because he was always in more control that the rounds were going to him. I suppose it's not easy to keep track when you're in a real fight. I can't remember an interpreter for his corner or if they advised him it was close.
