I've watched that fight a few times and every time I've had it either 114-113 or 115-112 to Cotto. Close fight mind you but for me Cotto deserved the W.
Funny thing because Vivek has been known to be very impartial towards most part of non-black fighters but he has a special li'l thing for Cotto... HE doesn't like the man at all.... Maybe just like you... definition of HATRED fits very well with both of you.... then again, I may be wrong, maybe just very unprofessional, very impartial pieces of journalism from Vivek... but you... well... just plain hate!!! Hi Darryl!:smooch
i guess what i was trying to say was that it was a really close fight that it could have gone either way. then that's where arum stepped in. especially when one one the judges had it 116-111. i think it even kellerman bashed that judge.
I watched this fight after downloading it and not looking at the result before hand as they didnt show it in the uk I had clottey winning by 2 points, was shocked hen cotto got the decision
I scored the fight for Cotto. I don't have my card handy, but it was close. Clottey simply let his foot off the pedal in the last rounds. I almost thought Clottey was going to stop Cotto, but he simply stopped throwing punches. He could have tagged Cotto steady through the final rounds if he had simply thrown, but he didn't. For that reason, he lost.
Had Cotto a point up. 114-113. If Clottey stepped it up, they may not have had to go to the scorecards.
Agreed. I scored it the 1st time I watched it and had Cotto winning by 1 on the strength of the last 2 rounds. It could have gone wither way easily. Who knows what would have happened had the cut not been opened up. But, Clottey had that fight in his hands and let Cotto take it from him.
Clottey had the ability, skill and power to win, but not the drive and determination. It was Cotto who had more of this, by the bucket load. Miguel grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat and fully deserved the win.
