    BULL****!!!

"He didn't take it"...He was outboxing him the whole fight, even giving 5 rounds to oscar is being absurdly genorous, there was no doubt Sturm won that fight. What else is he supposed to do?

Does he need to knock him out in order to win because ODLH is a bigger name and therefor deserves the nod even if he clearly got his ass kicked?

None of the few punches Oscar was landing had any effect, Sturm landed more and cleaner shots. IIRC Defense should also play a part in the scoring, Oscars connection% was way below 30%. Even if he was throwing more, that's not what you call "Effective Aggressiveness" and Sturm controlled the pace of the fight all night long.

Please give me one criterion that would justify a decision for ODLH here.

It was a robbery and a joke, decisions like that make boxing look bad in the general public eye, and deservingly so...

:patschYou're like a ******* who blames Marquez for not knocking Pacquiao out.:nut

Can someone else please confirm this, DLH himself has since admitted to losing the Sturm fight, anyone that states DLH won that fight is clearly a nuthugger.

I had it very close... slight edge to Oscar. Sturm was inactive for long periods of time in this fight

Sturm schooled him guys, clear robbery. This if I rmemeber correctly was the weakest most out of shape looking version of Oscar, he looked better in the b-hop fight.

I'm no nuthugger, ODLH is no big sentimental favorite of mine. Oscar landed more punches to my eyes, even though Sturm was ahead on punches landed according to compubox. ODLH threw 250 more punches. They weren't fantastic punishing punches, but neither were Sturm's. All the judges had it 115-113 ODLH, which seemed fair to me, and if it had been 115-113 Sturm I wouldn't have considered it too far out of line either.

It's Oscar's fault for showing up out of shape and not ready to fight, and it's Sturm's fault for not stepping up and seperating himself when it seemed obvious that possibility was on the table. You can't fight a HOF caliber fighter, on an undercard that's clearly set up to stage a fight between ODLH and Hopkins, and think you can just jab your way, unimpressively, to a decision win. Forget about it.

Much too close to be called a robbery.

But it should have gone to Sturm.

7-5 DLH, Ive tried explaining wayy too much, all ill say is this, he gave Oscar problems, the most up until that point and thats why people think he lost, but he was throwing mad combos while sturm was just outjabbing DLH. Its a fight and just jabs dont win you the fight.

A jab is still a scoring punch so yes Sturm won. I haven't seen it for years but I remember that he made DLH look bad and DLH looked "soft around the edges". A clear Sturm victory but of course he got robbed so DLH/Hopkins could happen.

I had it a draw. Sturm did good but you can't give away the first 5 rounds like he did and expect a win.

    Wow!:-(

The polls pretty much tells the story.

If the the performances were reversed and it was DLH doing in the ring what Sturm did and Sturm turning the performance that DLH turned in, I doubt you'd find s single person in this forum willing to say Sturm won that fight.

There is'nt a shred of doubt here, this was a politically motivated decision, short of a complete beatdown by Sturm on DLH (which is what you Bernie were looking from Sturm):nut there was'nt any way that Sturm was going to get a decision that night.
Sadly, atrocious decisions in circumstances like this are the norm in boxing.

Don't know why you're crying so hard about it. Even if you think Sturm won, the fight was close enough that it's definitely not a 'robbery', and if it had been anyone but ODLH on the receiving end of the decision nobody would be saying **** about it. This is just hatery, plain and simple.

You can live in a fairy tale world where every judge sees things exactly the way you do, and extraneous factors (promotors, paychecks, star power) play no part in the outcome of a fight if you want to, and apparently Sturm does. If it was ME in his place, I would be putting out 100% effort to make it damn clear to EVERYONE'S eyes that I was the better man out there and I would be trying to put some hurt on the superstar in front of me instead of passively jab jab jabbing my way to what I think is going to be a too close decision victory. If I was in his corner I would have been SCREAMING at him to push ODLH back, throw some hooks and crosses, pound him to the body, make him quit. He didn't. Jab jab jab jab. Anyone who follows boxing can tell you that's not going to make it happen for him, and he should have known that and so should you. Again, you want to blame somebody for that decision, then blame Sturm.

Someone shoud have informed Sturm he needed a knockout to win, indeed!

You're embarassing yourself Bernie.....you're essentially saying that because DLH was the recognized fighter on the cusp of a big fight following.......he should have recieved every round where he was'nt dominated.:nut

LOL, read your own posts in this thread Bernie, its embarrassing.

LOL, DLH himself said he lost vs Sturm, if thats not clear enough for you, nothing short of a complete beatdown would be.
