Actually it was a brilliant tactical move and greats like Tunney, Conn and others - thinkers in the ring - would have used the same tactic if they felt that there opponent was developing a rhythm that they couldn't contend with.

I've just watched it, and i have Calzaghe winning by 2 rounds(and that was being generous to BH). How Hopkins could say he schooled Calzaghe is a Joke.

Like Hopkins said, "the public knows who won". Guess the poll tells the story, ha ha. Hopkins has always been a hugger and a holder, thats all he did last night. Ha, ha, ha, and people complain about hatton. Hopkins is 3x as bad as hatton in that respect !!!

117-110- Joe based on rounds. Go watch the fight again, one of the middle rounds (5, 6, or 7) that Lederman gave to Hopkins was really a Calzaghe round on stats and physicality. Still, I'd score the fight 116-111 (as a judge, you gotta look beyond the numbers to a certain extent). By the way, all you Hopkins scorers are obviously biased. Get over it, dude lost.
I am an American but have been a fan of Joe's for a long time because he fights with such crazy athleticism and doesn't hide from punches like Mayweather (although that just shows how ill Mayweather is). Now all the other Americans should know this. Everyone's gotta love the fact that Hopkins got beat, just because of that b.s. comment he made about never getting beat by a white boy. Guess what, B-Hop, you just got beat by a white boy!!!
It sucks he couldn't even keep his dignity at the end. He had to come out with that amateur-old school comment. Wow. Good thing it was all for the publicity because otherwise dude needs to get some knowledge.
Oh yeah, and props to JB 3000 on the old school Atmosphere/Slug seven pic.

Joe won clearly......but it was far from a schooling...it was far from a domination and it was super close to a DRAW! I think Joe won clearly in a very close and competitive showing.
