That's my main problem, I go between a draw, and one round win for either fighter. atsch This is it, my definitive score. (The whole fight is on Youtube in one big block, if anyone fancies another go themselves.)
Nonsense, Haglers work was so sluggish throughout, the crispness of Leonards outshone Hagler in the majority of the close rounds.
Hagler. SRL was the "prettier" fighter that night, (as always) but Hagler got the job done. 115-113, But the decision doesn't make me crazy as it was obviously close.
i had hagler winning but it's probly time for me to watch it again. round 1 This content is protected hagler round 2 This content is protected (close but hagler) round 3 This content is protected leonard round 4 This content is protected leonard round 5 and 6 This content is protected leonard, hagler round 7 and 8 and 9 This content is protected hagler, hagler, hagler round 10 and round 11 This content is protected hagler, leonard round 12 This content is protected leonard
Sugar Ray Leonard, 7 rounds to 5. Hagler knows he lost. Score the fight, but look at Hagler's face as the final bell sounds.
Hagler won, it was a close fight and SRL did good but I truly believe Hagler won but didn't get the decision for business or political reasons. I understand why people call it a robbery because if you are Team Hagler then ofcourse to get the fight you want (considering his come up) and then come up short like that must really hurt so yes it IS a robbery in that sense. Then again it was a close fight so its difficult to score and you cant be mad if they score it for the other guy so in that sense it wasn't a robbery
Rounds are earned not stolen, but apparently official and unofficial judges chose when and where to apply that criteria. Going into that fight I knew Hagler had only two ways to get his hands raised vs Leonard. Score a Knockout or completely dominate rounds to bank them. Neither of those two happened and so the fight went to the media darling. Boxing business and politics as usual.
