The criteria is EFFECTIVE AGGRESSION though, not just landing more shots. If Sturm lands five punches that have his opponent in trouble and Murray lands ten light blows, it should go to Sturm.
I have to say i thought Sturm won it . All credit to Murray he did a lot better than i thought he would and made it a close fight but i'd still give it to Sturm . Murray took a few rounds to warm up , I'd give Sturm at least 3 of the first 4 only because nothing much happened in the first round. Murray got into it in the middle and late rounds but then they were just trading rounds .
In the close rounds I was giving Sturm the nod. Too much of Murray's work just looks like arm punches and nothing else no real intent in most of them. Even Sturms jabs looked much harder blows. Was a close fight but the commentary ruined it by trying to make it sound like a classic. Smith pissing himself in the 9th or 8th over Murray basically knocking sturm off balance with a double left hook and saying he thinks sturm was hurt was a load of ****.
i hate to say it but i had Sturm winning, i wanted Murray to win but in my opinion he just didn't do enough. it was a close fight.
Really?? I mean to each their own and all that and it clearly wasnt some kind of modern classic but i thought it was a decent enough fight. I definitely didnt think it was shite.
Maybe I'm being harsh to counteract his stupid comments, but most of the 'action' was just both fighters hitting each other's gloves.
Fair play i had the volume down low so i wasnt listening alot to the commentary until the end. Its strange how their bias can sometimes turn you against fighters/the fight. I know what you mean it was alot of ill throw you block, you throw ill block but at least it was fairly clean except for murrays low blows.
