I think the people who think Murrays gaurd was blocking Sturms shots are insane. I don't think there was one occassion where Sturm put him on the ropes and Sky didn't replay Murray being hit repeatedly. Almost every shot Sturm through would break through Murrays guard. Sturms jab was harder than pretty much anything Murray threw.

I thought alot of would think Murray was blocking the shots, Murray himself must have believed this to be the case from the way he lacked urgency and workrate. However, this wasn't the case.

I couldnt split them and thought a draw was a fitting result.I was amazed however that it was given a draw being in Germany and all.

Sturm classier, more accurate, more snap. Bossed early rounds. Amost last round ko (how did Jim Watt make that even). Had him by two. To be fair to sky's coms Adam Smith was leaning towards Sturm. Having said that, Murray excelled himself, but slow to capitalise on best moments. Career best perf. Proved he could live with Barker and Macklin, and should fight both.

I thought Murray just nicked it by 1 or 2 points so I'm not suprised to see it a draw, it was a tough fight to score with Murray outworking Sturm most of the time with Sturm throwing the sharper cleaner looking punches. I'm struggling to see how people are coming out with score cards like 116-112 and 117-111 to Sturm.

Sturm is such a frustrating fighter though he's tough he always come in great shape and gives it everything but there is just no variation at all in what he does, all he throws is jab, straight right and some sort of cork screw right hand and his defence is not that great either. How often was Murray able to catch him with left hooks and he doesn't even seem to try and defend against body shots.

Sturm 115-114. With better tactics Murray could have done the job. Why on earth he was just sitting on the ropes letting Sturm punch was beyond belief.

Sturm didn't land hardly anything clean. Murrays defence was very good. I just think Sturms agression nicked him the fight on my card.

Exactly. Interesting that anyone could think that Murray wasn't blocking most of those head punches, how good a chin do you think he ****ing has?! German TV feed in-between rounds showed Sturm landing... no! Really?!

Never thought for one minute Murray would get the decision of course, decent of them to let him have a draw though. Really good night. Loved Murray grinning and trading, not that he did enough of it of course.

Murray, Barker and Macklin seem so evenly matched now it would be fantastic for one of them to get a belt and set off a series between them.

I had Murray just. I disagreed with Watts scorecard. Last rd was Sturms. But first two rds he gives to Sturm, and Sturm did nothing, zilch, nowt to win those 2 rds.

That's exactly what people on this thread had been saying for the previous 3 pages.

Your face doesn't always tell the tale.

Murray didn't come to win, he just has bullshitters around him. He was backing up, put on the ropes numerous times and responding with weak punches from the start. Even his jab had not convicition and was just touching Sturms gloves.

Murrays defence was not as good as he may have thought it was. The replays often showed Murray getting hit 3 or 4 times in a row.

Interesting. I had Macklin beating Sturm by 4 rounds and Sturm beating Murray by 4 rounds.

Thought Murray's punches had more of an effect on Sturm than Macklin's. Sturm looked pretty groggy and shaken in there I thought whereas against Macklin the punches didn't really seem to register.
