Thought Overeem won 1 and 2 Have to account for how Werdum was trying to take the fight to the ground and Overeem for the most part controlled where the fight took place. Werdum pulled guard and stalled the fight. I thought Reem should have been more aggressive when they were on their feet and was a bit too cautious and as a result didn't pull the trigger as much as he should have. The thing is it isn't easy to fight your fight when your opponent is falling on his ass, or reacting like he is hurt.. Every time Reem threw something and came close to landing, Werdum acted like he got tagged and was on his back trying to feign injury. Cant blame Reem for that.
Agree with everything you say here. Even if you notice its fake half the times he drops after getting hit it still looks like he got tagged a few times which was more than overeem who never looked troubled on the feet even when werdum had his "successes".
IMO Werdum threw the fight away with his constant flopping he was actually having a lot of success on the feet It was frustrating to watch Werdum do what he did.
Overeem clearly won the fight. I was disappointed in this fight mainly because Overeem did not go for the ko the way I imagined he would have, but he played it safe instead. Werdum landed some punches but he didnt win this fight by any stretch of the imagination.
Werdum. He caught Overeem with much more shots in the standup, even though they weren't that hard. Werdum never got caught, he fell down as soon as he was touched intentionally. Werdum wanted to avoid standup, just like Over wanted to avoid the ground. Neither is to be awarded more than the other. Werdum´s takedown attempts and variety were pathetic though. He tried, Over stuffed them.. even. Both looked like they have a shitty gas tank. Barnett will steamroll either one of them.
werdum could have won the fight if he didnt go down like that all the time which made me irritate. on paper overeem won and that is what matters
I think too many people here picked Overeem in their prediction pool, so they don't want to admit Werdum got robbed and therby admit that they overestimate Overeem/underestimated Werdum.
