Most of us agree that JMM won the fight. Pac knocked him down early in the fight and then JMM won virtually every round to get a draw. The third fight is generally considered a controversial decision and most say Pac losing. But who won the second fight? It was a Split Decision won by Pac. For the vacant 130 championship.
I had it for Marquez, 7-5. The hardest rounds to score in that fight are the 1st, and the 7th ; I usually give the first to Manny on activity (even though Marquez landed the best punch of the round with a right hand following a lead left hook feint), and the 7th to JMM on cleaner, harder punches in the exchanges.
Pac won, it was a draw at best for JMM, JMM boxed the hell out of Manny and clearly won anywhere between 5-7 rounds, but in a close fight thats razor thin the one knockdown was the deciding factor Manny should of take this win and ran with it like he tried, and never looked Marquez way again, he fell victim to his own hype and felt if Floyd could dominated him at WW he could do the same..............Now we have to bear with the ups and downs of a forth fight
After the first fight: Marquez said if only he could get another crack at PAC. After the second fight: Marquez said if only he could get another crack at PAC. After the third fight: Marquez said if only he can get another crack at PAC. There seems to be a pattern here .
I think the first one is clearly Pacquiao. He not only got the 10-6 first round, he won the 2nd round and landed some big left hands late in the fight. For me, the second one was 7-5 Marquez. Cleaner punching.
It's been a while since I have seen it, but I think I remember scoring it a draw, just like I did Pac- Marquez III.
