Watt, the other Sky commentator and Bellew seem to think Bute won. I had it 117-111 Pascal. I can see 118-110 to 116-112 Pascal. Anything outside of that I strongly disagree with.
I just don't get their angle. Bellew was saying he didn't really see a case for Pascal. Pascal cleary won 8 of those rounds, you could make a case even for 119-109. Bute only clearly won the 12th.
I scored it 115-113 for Pascal. It was a close fight and the HBO crew were EXTREMELY biased in favor of Pascal. Bute was too hesitant and wasn't as sharp as he was several years ago, but Pascal wasn't doing much either except standing around for much of the fight. It was a mediocre performance by both boxers. Neither is a real threat to Stevenson or Kovalev.
Sometimes people score fights based on who's walking forward. It's ridiculous, and it's lazy, but it's true. That being said, there is no possible way anyone who knows what they're watching could score that fight for Bute.
What! Does anyone really need to ask! Pascual clearly won, the first round Bute won was the last one in my opinion, and that was largely due to Pascual getting tired. And as for the HBO commentary, they were clearly biased towards Bute which didn't do him any good because most knowledgeable fans know they have a tendency to be biased.
