On the basis that people on thsi forum have PBF beating ODH due to lanindg more clean punches in more rounds (which is how boxing is actually scored), then you cannot give the 1st fight to anyone other than Castillo as he did land more clean punches in more rounds. simple observation, and counting skills can tell you that or you can look at the punch stats round by round for the fight, either one points to JLC
116-111 the first fight ... The first fight and the second fight was different and if you guys aren't aware ... Mayweather wasn't credited a knock down in the first fight. Money May, won both fights on points in very tough but clear victories.
Clear on what basis? he landed less clean shots in 8 of the 12 rounds and should therefore have lost those rounds. 2nd fight was a different story entirely tho
Mayweather won a clear decision 116-111 If you factor in the early rounds ... I can't believe some of you guys saying that Mayweather lost alot of the early rounds, when you can only make an arguement for 1 round in favor of Castillo. I think that Floyd won enough of the early rounds and rallied in the latter rounds to win the fight. One thing that is for certain is that FLoyd was in the toughest fight to date. Floyd was never dominated, never pinned against the ropes, and those left hooks to the body had the same effect as Oscar's did in their first fight. Castillo looked like he got tired towards the end and he let Floyd beat him on the inside, one of the first times that Floyd showed that he can bang on the inside. Castillo lost the fight clearly ... shouldve lost a point for the knockdown ... shouldve got a point deducted for spinning Floyd and hitting him while his back was turned.

Floyd is a counter-puncher... He did exactly what he needed too. He made Castillo miss quite a bit, and fired back with an answer to almost everything. The only thing Castillo did to earn as many rounds as he did was dictate the pace of the fight. Mayweather clearly wasn't in his comfort zone, not looking as "pretty" as he normally does, but still doing enough to win by at least 2 rounds.
You don't get points for making guys miss. You get points for making them pay. Which fighter would rather have been before the scores were read? Castillo hit PBF harder and more often than he was hit. The fight was clearly for Castillo.
I don't remember exactly how i scored it but I have always thought Mayweather lost that fight, close fight though, could have gone either way.
