Its disgracful i mean this guy trains hard puts his life on the line. This fight could have changed his life and the fuking judges snatch it from him is a fuking joke. And im scottish sorry ricky mate but you lost .
Yeah that is what I felt and that was the first time the commentary picked up on him complaining in the corner. Only he knows but I didn't think he had his jaw broken in the second.
Also, not to be forgotten in the wake of the awful decisions was the awful referee who let Burns hold and drag all fight without a hint of a warning.
It's weird, because I thought Burns nicked a couple of early rounds, and a couple in the middle (six and seven) and a couple more rounds were close-ish, so I can make out the path that one judge took to come up with a draw. But I can't see any reason to take that path, personally. There weren't too many rounds, aside from two of the first three, and maybe the seventh where Burns had a solid case for earning the stanza. And even though I wound up giving him four rounds in total, and earning a share of another, I can just as easily envision a scorecard that only gives him two at most. Pretty clearly Beltran's fight, even if my card was closer than most.
That is twice in a row now Burns hasn't been the better man in the ring on the night. He was lucky to have Chelo quit on him and even luckier to get a gift draw after copping a thorough ass-kicking from Mundo. Burns' unseemly reputation is quickly overtaking that of the man whose back he built his name on. (Rocky Martinez)
I was there and it seemed obvious that Beltran won. I'll watch the replay but I was shocked at the result.
It was palpable watching it at home, that everyone there in Glasgow pretty much felt Beltran did more than enough. I don't think anyone really, anywhere in the world thought Burns should have retained the belt in any way shape or form unless they're actually on Team Burns. (and even then, a little angel on their other shoulder is chastising them over it...)
Don't forget how that last guy was mauling Burns for like 6 rounds, making him look like a bum. That before he decided to brawl, got hurt and injured his arm. Either way this time Beltran won easily, BS decision.
I agree. The only saving grace is that it came short of Beltran having a defeat to Burns on his record. Still, that doesn't give him the belt and the subsequent hard-earned paydays that are rightfully his now.
