I didn't say anyone Scottish is English. How did you get that from my post?

Both the Scottish and English are British. That was my point.

IB , Love your RBR's but honestly being British I know the scots are definately scots and are fiercely independant.

    Peace.

    Had it 115-112 Beltran.

The fans reaction said it all, there was a collective embarrassment as the result was announced, and rightly so, good on the fans.

Also, there seems to be a strange misconception with some that if a fight isn't a blowout points wise then it can't be a robbery. Beltran was robbed plain and simple, how on earth one judge scored 8 rounds to Burns is beyond me. I can only presume Carlos Ortiz Jr is possessed by the restless ghost of Roger Tilleman.

Clearly Beltran won , pissed off cause I was temped to bet on the draw. Beltran is an American journeyman but that makes him comparable to European Level since America is so much more competitive .

Just watched it again and had it 118-109 Beltran, it was even wider than I first thought. I gave the first two rounds to Burns and that was it. On second viewing Burns defiantly didn't win the last two rounds either like some have said, don't let the commentators and a few cheers from the crowd influence your judgment.

This robbery is right up there with the worst of them.

No, Beltran is a notch below elite. I wouldn't call him a journeyman, despite the half dozen losses. Two of those were split decisions early on (so, questionable at best) and both the unanimous decisions were robberies against slick prospects. That leaves the pair by TKO4, and the Diaz one at least is excusable. Ammeth has skills and serious elite power. (he's just cursed with an equally bad chin)

One thing, how do you score a draw when theres a 10-8 round
Does that mean he had to give an even round?

Correct. Not that uncommon in the UK. They are gaga for their indecisive 10-10 rounds over there. Lazy gits. :yep

That's absolutely true. We're weaned on a diet of 10/10 rounds both officially and unofficially via broadcast scoring.

Just watched the fight...Burns won the 1st & 7th and the second could have gone either way (because Burns was winning it decisively until Beltran blasted him with that left hook and took over from there.) Beltran won every other round and it really wasn't close just a disgusting result. I couldn't believe that dip**** ref didn't take at the very least 1 point for Burns excessive holding.

Absolutely terrible scoring, Beltran should be granted a immediate rematch in Mexico so Burns camp can't ***** about retaliatory scoring in the U.S. "The Rickster" should not still be champion, and it's really disgusting how Judges and promoters can live with themselves with the way the mess with these fighters lives and livelihoods. There should be a one strike and you're out policy for all judges, get one blatantly wrong like this (Burns vs Beltran decision) and they should never be allowed to judge a fight anywhere ever again.

    :deal

I lost some big money on this fight

I couldn't believe that beltran beat the living shiit out of him and the judges had the audacity to score it a draw.

It was just shameless corruption on the night from the ref letting bums to do what he wanted in terms of illegal holding to the judges who refused to score the fight correctly.
