Which is why he is best not listened to, an awful pundit, one of many that Sky have.

Spot on, its a real downside to Boxing that needs to be addressed, too much ineptitude, thats why i was glad Simpson spoke out and same with Hearn last week.

We need more of that if we are to rid the sport of guys like O'Connor.

I thought Simpson clearly won the first fight the fight tonight was much closer and you couldnt really complain if someone won by a round or two either way . I cant see what fight Terry O'Connor watched

    Simpson, comfortably.

    1: Smith clear
    2: Smith clear
    3: Smith close but clear
    4: Simpson close but clear
    5: Simpson clear
    6: Simpson clear
    7: Simpson close but clear
    8: Simpson clear
    9: Simpson clear
    10: Smith clear
11: **** round as far as clean blows, but Simpson landed some and Smith mostly held. Simpson close but clear
    12: see 11

    116-112

But conceivably if you switch the close rounds to Smith and the final 2 you get 116-112 Smith which is not an entirely unwarranted scorecard imo I just felt all the better work was from Smith in the fight in general. Not that Simpson didnt have his moments or some very good rounds but Smith overall did enough to win

Hence why I specified close but clear. They can't be switched.

And no way in HELL did Smith win the 11th and 12th with what he did. No way in HELL (just Merseyside).

well... what can I say? I predicted that Simpson would KO Swifty, who didnt look quite so swift after 2 rounds!!!
I also predicted though that if Simpson didnt KO Smith he was never going to get the nod, Simpson never has & never will get a fair crack of the whip. I have watched Simpson being robbed down south again & again & have went through all his highs & lows as a fighter here on ESB. Im too old for urgueing or screaming now though, thats why I dont post much anymore. You kinda lose faith in the sport when your in the corner of the underdog so often, & you can predict a robbery easily before it happens! Its sad for the sport, & its KILLING it.

To me? Simmy controlled the fight from the 3rd onwards. Smith gassed, but we all know hes a stubborn fella who can hang in, & thats what he did. However, it was when Smith was allowed to clinch & smother & spoil from the 8th onwards I immediately lost heart, I knew then that Simpson wouldnt be able to get his KO that his work deserved & would be robbed of his title, & thats what happened. I could say I was eerily accurate, but im not, im just a Simpson fan who is used to seeing the warrior & fan favourite be treated like a piece of dirt.

True boxing fans who watched that know Simpson deserved it. Smith should never have been given rounds for spoiling mixed with the odd flurry, but what concerned me more than anything was when I heard Smith saying Simpson could have not taken this fight & been in contention for a world title fight?
What moron sent Simpson down there after al thats gone on in the past, when it was avoidable? Alex Morrison probably.

Tonight was a sad night for british boxing I felt, but theres so many nowadays on our shores no wonder our sport dies a slow & torturous death.

    Just my thoughts.

    PS

Woodhall giving first round 10-8, why??? Mans always been overrated by the fans as a pundit. His scorecard proved it tonight.

The 12th wasn't clear, close or otherwise, for either fighter.

Even if thats true its not the same as "close but clear" for Simpson, is it? Esp, when you won't broach any "switching" of those rounds....;O)
