Watched this round again. Floyd threw many punches but did not land as many as he was throwing. Oscar landed to the body as well as Floyd landed to the face with the last exchange going to De La Hoya. That last combo to the body and then the head did hurt Floyd, you can see it in his face as well as the anger in that the bell rang before he could retaliate. I give the fight to Floyd but this last round to Oscar for the harder blows and that he showed he wanted it more. Round 11 is solidly Floyd's.

de la Hoya put him on the ropes about 3 times landing flurries to the body and head and generally thorwing more while altough Mayweather landed about 3 flush right hands he didn't do much and the final flurry was convincing for de la Hoya.

Floyd landed over half his punches in that round. Mostly to the head and face, even a body shot to Oscars mid section proceeded promptly by a right to the head. Oscars only sustained attack was an assault on the ropes which basically had no power in them and Floyd was laughing until the ref broke it up. That was the only thing he did basically. The other times he had Floyd against the ropes he missed nearly everything. Floyd shoulder rolls most of the punches off his shoulders. Oscar landed a flush shot before the fight ended but it didnt hurt Floyd and it does nothing to counter the clinical precision Floyd had for that entire round. Floyd landed more punches, countered effectively, dodged most of Oscars punches and controlled the majority of the round. Oscar barely landed a punch for the first 2 minutes of the round.

I'd give it the 12th round to DLH there. He was the aggressor all round. He landed a lot of flurries, he threw a lot of good right hands to Floyd's head which connected well, and then in the last few seconds landed three massive shots which rocked Mayweather.

Floyd threw fewer punches, and in that round, didn't really connect with that many. 12th round to DLH.

I don't see a reason NOT to give it to him.

Counting flurries that miss is not how you score a fight. Oscar didnt land a punch for nearly 2 minutes of the round. For instance when Oscar backs Floyd into the ropes immediately in the beginning in the round and starts throwing punches, you dont score any of it, because Floyd dodged them and rolled them off his shoulders, none landed.
No he didnt. The only punches prior to the shot he landed while Floyd was on the ropes with about 50 seconds left in the round were flurries to the body that Floyd was laughing at because clearly to anybody with eyes they were not hard punching, this is what knowledgeable boxing fans call shoe shine punches. You dont count those either, because its not clean effective punching.
He only landed cleanly with one of those shots. The rest barely grazed floyds face.
How many punches you throw in a round means nothing. It matters how many punches you land. Again you dont know how to correctly score a fight. If Floyd only lands one punch, and Oscar throws 10 but misses all of them, the one punch counts more. Floyd landed several clean shots to the face and body, far more then Oscar landed the entire round, they were clean shots that you could hear and see clearly that they were hard punches meant to cause an effect, not shoe shining to impress the judges, that is why guys like Floyd are considered accurate punches, the punches they throw are for an effect. If you watched the Marquez Diaz fight, the same thing. Marquez threw less punches, but his punches were always thrown for affect. Diaz threw alot of punches but alot of them also werent very effective. Floyd landed the cleaner, harder blows, and controlled the fight in the ring, thus you give the round to him .

yes and no. For me, Floyd just didn't do enough to win this round. OK, he landed 1 or two clean punches. But he also missed a lot more than he landed, despite what the commentators were wittering on about, especially in the first 30 seconds or so. They were saying "Floyd is landing the crisp clean punches" at the beginning of the round, when at the time, he really wasn't, lol, just watch it again.

True, and I saw DLH land the more telling blows in that round. DLH's best points in that round were good shots at 2.42, 1.47, 1.32, a pressing flurry at 1.01, a sustained attack at 0.44, and in the last few seconds he banked the round beyond question by landing at least 2, arguably 3, big clean shots, which rocked Floyd. (I'm not sure why you think he landed only one???).

It's all very well saying fluries don't count for nothing, but that's bull**** - they do. And especially when the other guy isn't doing much. Floyd just threw the odd single shot, most missed, and most of what he did throw was blocked. DLH was the one fighting until the end, showed the more hunger, executed a couple of flurries ...landed the more power shots, and even rocked the other guy at the end of the round.

    DLH's round. Get over it.

Wonder why Mayweather refused to fight a rematch for his biggest payday?

    Really, oh wise one?

People keep saying, "oh, it's not the amount of punches you throw, it's how much power that's in your punches".

Well then, please show me which punch Floyd threw in that round that had more power, accuracy and did more damage than DLH's power shots right at the end of the round. I'd like to see it.
