Wlad won it when Haye refused to shake his hand. David is going to feel Wlad's hand as it knocks him unconscious.

 

i would say haye but him saying he was getting a hard on was a bit cringeworthy!!

 

Haye definitely got the better of the exchange, but it was quite cringeworthy to be honest. When Haye called Wlad a dickhead, Wlad said nothing for quite some time. Also, his 'joke' that David had just been knocked out was extremely lame. He must have been thinking in German at that point, as a German joke is no laughing matter. Haye did come across as a bit of a wanker when he said he had a hard on about the fight, but overall he had the better of it, and seemed to wind up Wlad a fair bit.

However, the point has been made though that HBO were not targeting this face off at boxing fans, but casual viewers, to generate interest in the fight. I wouldn't attach much significance to this in terms of how the fight will go. In fact, by the time the bout starts both fighters will likely have completely forgotten this little get together.

 

I feel sorry for Haye. He's going to feel the wrath of wlad

 

What you talking bout!! Wlad looked like he was about to cry, he got the old dry mouthed gobsmacked look. Then in a desperate attempt to shake Haye's hand, Haye told him to put that **** away for after the fight. Sorry but Wlad owned from start to finish there.

 

I think it's very relevant, This is a test of Wlad's mental tools, how does he deal with a guy who isn't bending to his will. Someone who is loud and brash and is doing his utmost to take Wlad out of his comfort zone. Wlad by his own admission states that Vitali is the natural fighter tougher fighter, Wlad just boxes cos he's good at it, but he lacks a ruthlessness and a genuinely fierce persona.

2 things can happen to a fighter when he is put under this kind of mental pasting. He can either keep his **** together and control and channel his aggression and smack the **** out of his tormentor or he doubts himself, he crumbles and falls apart. We shall see.

 

Haye will go down as the biggest fraud in years

 

I think watching this in retrospect, Wlad will be very disappointed at how he let Haye get to him. David was business as usual and didn't seem lost for words at any point! I even think one could construe Wlad's silence as him being intimidated (don't buy the language barrier argument, Wlad's English is exceptional). What a contrast to the early press conferences where Wlad was the more vocal and looked more confident.

Haye's refusal to toe the Klitschko line is now clearly affecting Wlad and he is feeling his control of proceedings slipping away. I think the clear display of anger shows this and Haye will see this as the first sign that he is gaining an upper hand. I have to go with your latter point and I think this unusual departure from the norm from Wlad will snowball and I could see him capitulating.

What is interesting here, is that this face off took place before the press conferences. Now we saw a more subdued Haye at the press conferences and it was mostly Wlad giving it mouth, or trying to. But for me, it makes sense now with regards to how Wlad came across in the press conferences. People noticed he was trying a little too hard, and came across cringe worthy with the hand stuff etc. But I suppose when you take into account Wlad at the face off, I think he was caught off guard, realized he was losing the mental battle after that performance and needed to get back in to the mental fight.

So we saw a more animated Wlad, anticipating more verbal uppercuts from Haye so Wlad this time had his guard up. But Haye again, took him out of the game, by remaining quiet, which left Wlad looking a little desperate, shake the hand David Shake the hand! trying some of his own insults to get under Haye's skin, like the mention about Haye's magazine, calling him Gaye etc etc. But when Wlad tries it, it doesnt look right, cos that's not him. So again it sparks of a slightly desperate man.

So far Haye is dictating the pace and direction of the mental battle leaving Wlad guessing as to what Haye will do next. He's in his head and as I said, it will either motivate Wlad to really keep it together and do a number of Haye, or again fall in to the trap. Does Haye come out aggressive? does he take his time wait for Wlad to commit?

Again, It's the unpredictability and a little cunning which could tilt it all to Haye's favour. And with Dark Master Adam Booth behind the scenes, possibly the master architect in Wlad's demise.

Granted I may be reading a little too much in to it, but this is what I take from it all at this moment and you are all entitled to disagree with me.
