Who won the fight, Salido or Lomachenko?

It was dirty, but Salido!

 

Golota lost the fight with Bowe because of low blows, but it's OK for Salido to land low blows, hit on the break, and do extremely holding and I mean extreme.

Euro haters will be disappointed when Lomachenko wins the title. Lomachenko won two gold medals, world titles as an amateur. He has the right to protest the low blows, weight disadvantage. If it's OK for Salido to land blow blows to Lomachenko's legs, balls, hips, etc., hit on the break, etc., then they should reverse the loss by Golota to Bowe for low blows.............

 

It was close but Salido won the fight. And to those complaining about the low blows, those complaints are justified. However, Cole similarly did a terrible job when Lomachenko was holding constantly in the 1st half of the fight to stave off Salido's pressure, which also warranted a deduction, so the terrible ref work evened out in my mind.

That said, while he didn't win the fight, Lomachenko did show that he is already basically a world level Featherweight with his effort in defeat, and he will only get better. Within a year I suspect he'll be wearing the WBO Featherweight belt.

I am a big loma fan. But if you want to beat the champion then you habe to take the belt of him. I had the feeling that loma tried to save his energy because he wasnt sure that he can go 12 rounds. In the hinsight loma could have gone More out in the last four rounds

You can't be mad at Salido for pushing the limits. Cole should have imposed those limits, and didn't. He is far more at fault than Salido for the beating Lomachenko's nuts took. Salido didn't specifically target his groin, he just didn't care if he landed some down there (realizing that some would, inevitably) while spraying punches all over his belt line. It was up to Cole to establish parameters of acceptability. He didn't. Lomachenko's and his fans' main gripe should be with him.

 

I agree, I have nothing against Salido. He got away with what he could, and I believe that he legitimately tried to make weight.

 

I was curious why the ref never tried to punch Loma or hold his hands so Salido could land a clean shot.

 

i scored it a draw but had cole done his job....lomachenko would have won easily.

 

Take away the "easily" part and this goes for me.
