I had Pacquiao by a round or two. Couldn't give it to Marquez.

First one was closer on points but more one-sided in rounds, second one Marquez won too many rounds for Pac to win but Pac did better on a round-by-round basis.

I can't bring myself to really argue against a Marquez win.

    Pac won it.

I wouldn't call someone an idiot for saying Marquez, but pac made the fight what it was, Marquez played the reactionary fighter very well, but Pac brought the fight and made it what it was.

I had it even, even with the pac knockdown but I can see how it could go pac's way.

So you'd give it to him based on the fact he came forward and that JMM "only" counterpunched? Entertainment value in assessing a fighter's legacy is important, but within a fight it's not really a good way to score a winner.

No, he made the fight as in he created the opportunities for Marquez to win rounds, but even in doing so I still give the nod to aggressors who are outmatched technically against a counter puncher if they are still effective in beating the guy up.

Not every fight is a cut and dry compubox count.

I love Marquez as a fighter. But i must be honest. Him being 'robbed' as some will have you believe has become a false truth IMO. People have heard it so many times that they've just believed it to be true. Difficult and very subjective fights to score, but i've seen both fights so many times and i always come away with Pacquiao wins with the knockdowns making the difference.

You have to score a fight based on ring generalship, effective aggressiveness, defense and clean punching, with the most emphasis on clean punching, Marquez clearly did a better job.
