Who won the rematch Marquez or Pacquiao

it's indeed lame. pac arguably won not because of the knockdown alone. jmm arguably won not just because he has slightly more punches connected.

 

for throwing 108 less punches, Marquez only landed 15 more. It's not surprising that he could lose the fight to some of the judges.

that means he landed 1 or 2 more each for all 12 rounds if you averaged it. Doing lazy math. Point being, it's not the robbery that a lot of people are crying about.

Just rewatched it: scorecard is above, I did doubt giving the 7th to marquez, that would have made it 114-113 pacquiao, either way he won.
I thought the first fight was closer.

 

Depends on how you seen it...Marquez by a point..Pacquiao if based on aggression.

 

Thats just the thing about both but especially the rematch of Marquez-Pacquiao.......

In many circumstances a judge will favor the aggressive, but most of those times, the boxer is in full retreat mode offering more defense than he does offense.
This was not the case with Marquez.
In this matchup, it was really both fighters being liberal and aggressive with their punching.


I'll say it again......Marquez was an aggressor. Everytime Pacquiao punched, Marquez punched either in unison or right back.

.....and everytime Marquez landed hard, which was frequent, he'd aggressively drive Pacquiao to cover.

I'm sorry, but a case cant be made in this fight that Pacquiao won the fight based on aggression, because Marquez was just as aggressive and in fact, landed consistently cleaner and harder throughout the rounds and not just one or two of the rounds as was the case with Pacquiao.

This. Wouldn't argue against someone giving it to Pac though. First fight I had it 113-113 or possibly 114-112 in favour of Pac with some rounds being hard to score.

It was dead even in rounds but Pac clinched it because of the kd in 3rd. It was a lucky win for Pac because JMM was winning that round before the kd, so a 10-9 round in favor of JMM turned into 10-8 in favor of Pac.

I scored it 114-114, a draw. Cracking fight.

 

Marquez won this fight. Even pinoy media had it for marquez. It was a close but clear win for marquez. Even Pac knows he lost.
