I don't believe Tarver was really drained, but I do believe the rest. :smoke

The first sentence is pretty disingenuous. That 2nd fight was legitimately a circus act. They were both in their 40's and it was the most unwatchable thing ever. I don't think many people put stock into that fight.

The first fight featured RJJ pretty Hopkins pretty convincingly while both were young and prime, even though maybe not peak.

Someone else said it best, Hopkins won the marathon while RJJ won the sprint.

Makes how Calzaghe handled Hopkins look better as well :yep:smoke

Still if you think Tarver was better than Eubank or Kessler even, I will leave you with that :patsch

The Magic man definitely beats Eubank at LHW.
That younger version of BHOP also wins a close decision over Calzaghe. :yep

    B-Hop won.
Hopkins goes on to a long succesful even getting a few wins over atg Father Time.
Jones went on to get KOed by a bunch of nobodies on fights no one watched.

You can say those later fights don't matter, but they both went on well past their primes so I think it is fair to include those later fights in assessing their careers compared to one another.

Had Jones retired after the Tarver win or Ruiz win, what would your opinion have been then?

That would be seriously funny if BHOP put in an application for Roy's $100K PPV.
I see the show being a failure but with BHOP it just may do some good numbers and some potential comedy as well. :yep

Yeah the trash-talking before hand if Bernard did that would be just over the top, great entertainment. I would definitely buy this fight on PPV. Somebody close to Bernard should try to persuade him to do it, hahaha.

Hopkins' career stands taller...but as far as their rivalry? They only fought once in their primes and there was a clear and decisive winner h2h.
