Peter in the 1st fight had only aggression...he couldn't land a punch to save his life....well....he did land a few...and i mean FEW! But James was landing at will and controling the action of the fight with his counter punching and elusive defense...2nd go round was a completely different fight and different Sam Peter.
I had the first fight by Peter, but it was very close and could've gone either way. The second was a landslide victory for Peter. He gave Toney a lot of punishment in the first and that combined with Peter being in better shape and having improved quite a bit resulted in a one-sided beating.
Im shocked RUSKULL, I rarely see you give the nod to Peter on anything. The first fight was pretty close, I feel niether man did enough to clearly win in my book, so I had it a draw. The second fight proved who the better man was, Peter not only landed the harder punches, he also out boxed a legend in James Toney.
Toney def won the first. Peter the 2nd. I was surprised as hell that Peter was able to make such a huge change between the first and second fights. Especially with Toney in "better" shape and with a "nutritionist".
Peter won the 1st fight:deal and should have stopped Toney in the 2nd only if he had showed more aggression when Fatso was down and hurt:yep Maybe that's why Toney is slurring his speech so much because he got his ass kicked so bad in that 2nd match..:verysad
Toney won the first fight, clearly and convincingly. I watched the fight about 5 or 6 times, and found no way to give the fight to Peter...
Toney won that 1st fight, of course... it's obvious, it wasn't even close... Peter landed the harder rabbit punches though...
I'm all for honoring official decisons but this one was horrible. Toney won that fight. Going into the fight there was all this hype about how Peter was a devastating puncher so the judges were biased in hi favor and gave him way too much credit for those sloppy clubbing punches that weren't even hurting Toney.
