I scored it for Thurman, but 116-112 for Porter is plausible. Scrorecards are not necessarily indictive of how close or one sided a fight may be, especially if there were many close rounds.

After all is said and done, I think that Thurman won the fight 116/112. Thurman landed the most effective shots and backed Porter up as much as Porter backed him up, he acquitted himself well off the ropes and all in all, he was the better fighter that night.

That's like saying you wrote a stirring dissent for the minority on a Supreme Court case.

I don't understand why you guys keep trying to give Porter the edge, the judges got it right 115-113 Thurman. Thurman simply landed the cleaner and more effective punches throughout most of the fight.

You described 4 rounds as 'very close' and hard to score. You gave all 4 of those rounds to Porter. From your scoring and breakdown as it happened you shouldn't have much of a problem if those 4 rounds were given to Thurman, which would make it 8-4 Thurman. So I don't know how you can so adamantly call it a bad decision. I scored it a draw and am ok that Thurman took it. Porter was more consistent and fought his fight more than Thurman's, but Thurman landed way more clean punches.
