lol, way too many people confused as to what the AP is, it stands for associated press. It is not a singular person like so many think. 115-113 is the added collection of anyone in the press who scored the fight, for this fight it would've been in the hundreds. So, there would've many view points of it being a draw, Tito winning, Oscar winning etc. Above all else, it says exactly what it seems to, that the fight was close when considering the views far less biased professionals. The only time you see robberies in association with this fight is in forums where you have homers, haters, and everything in between.

Didn't say anything about controversy, just saying hardly anyone in the professional world was crying out robbery. That's what the collective AP score shows that I put up, that many thought Trinidad won. There's always going to be controversy in close fights but, not necessarily robbery claims.

Well, there are only *12* rounds in a fight. So, my first question is; how did you score it 8 rounds to 5?

 

I don't think you understand how the AP scorecard works. It is not an average of rounds won by a collection of reporters, that would be stupid. There's no way you could even formulate that. It's still one writer or reporter giving his opinion that is present at the fight, and sending it out. This guy thought Oscar won.

Like Tim Dahlberg is the lone man who has given the AP credited scorecard for several major fights. He provided the AP card for Oscar/Mosley II as well. Not sure on Oscar/Tito, but probably him.

I posted an actual poll that the overwhelming majority gave to Oscar. 12 to 17. That is over 70%.

Last time I scored that fight I had it a draw.

 

Ledderman had it a draw as well but no way that was a draw Tito didn't do enough

 

I have seen them average the scores before and that is what makes sense here because saying AP when if it's actually just one guy, and not just saying that guys name, while simultaneously giving the impression it's opinion of the collective whole that the AP is, would be stupid. And you need to brush up on your math skills, getting an average is an easy thing to do which they thought of the formula for a long ago but, it's the percentage you came up with that really scares me. You have to add up 12 + 17 to get the collective "whole" on people who scored the fight which is 29, you then divide 17 by 29 to get 58% for DLH. Just looking at it and seeing you could take two from the DLH side and give it to Tito, to have almost 50% should've told you something.

 

YES, its the biggest robbery of the era considering the magnitude of the hype and the boxers themselves.
