Whitaker won. Oscar missed all night, got outlanded, and got knocked down.

Oscar missed all night, Whitaker barely through anything and when he did it was a little slap or thump.

Oscar's agression and power punches that did land won him the fight.

He didn't land ****! He mssed and his fans cheered that **** on. Oscar gave the air a beating. If Whitaker lost that fight he should have lost a few others as well. Oscar did nothing special that night. Missing, getting outlanded, and getting knocked down does not win you a fight.

Whitaker barely threw anything? Oddly enough he both threw more and landed more at a higher percentage than De La Hoya. Not to mention that Whitaker clearly dictated the pace, all of Oscar's flurries came up air, and he was dropped.

I had Whitaker by 2 points.

I had Whittaker by 2 aswell if I remember correctly. :)

You've gotta feel for Sweet Pea, won all 12 rounds against Ramirez and dropped a decision, should of got the nod against JCC aswell and then lost to Bojorquez after he broke his clavicle. You could say his only legit loss was to a future HOF who was around his peak and this was when Pernell was past his best.

A faded Pea landed more clowned more and even dropped a prime Oscar he won that fight period. A prime Pea would have humiliated Oscar. Oscar even promised a rematch but failed to deliver he wanted no more of pea.

I don't think Oscar was at his prime yet, but a faded Whitaker should have gotten the nod. No doubt! And a prime Whitaker would have humilated any version of DLH

Comes back to argument of ineffective aggression vs defense.

Ineffective aggression wins more votes than defense.

I disagree. Oscar was just coming into his prime years he was 24 or 25 when he fought Pea.

IMO 27 -30 is prime. 24 is quite young to me. I'm guessing you think Oscar wasn't active enough between fighting Tito and fighting Vargas:think
