He was eating Paulie's jabs and right crosses all night. Paulie threw more shots, not just pawing either, he was really trying to hit hard, but unfortunately for him, he doesn't hit hard. The only round Juan clearly won was round 2. Paulie's jab kept Juan off for about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes of every round. Many of his shots were blocked or just grazed Paulie.
i disagree, the only clean diaz round were 2,5,7...the rest of his rounds were sloppy and hard to score.....paulie's rounds were very easy and clean to score....for every 1 sloppy punch diaz landed paulie would land 5 clean jabs in the round, and paulie was actually more of the agressor outthrowing the pressure fighter diaz by 200.....116-112 paulie, and really i thought this fight wasnt close at all, i thought diaz got a class dismissed type fight
I had it one round for Diaz could have gone either way, and thats the reality of it it was a close fight, so in a close fight in the back yard of Diaz what did you really expect? I mean damn I didnt think Paulie was close in his fight with Cotto but some people and judges felt that way am I here crying about it? No Paulie has two close decisons that should have gone the other way but lets be straight when your fighting in someones back yard and your aware of the circumstances and politics surrounding the fight either train hard enough to make it crystal clear or do not take the fight. if Paulie really felt he was going to get robbed being feather fisted there was no way he would stop Diaz why proceed with the fight?
paulie said in the post fight this was his only way of getting back on hbo....i actually think this fight will do wonders for both guys carears..... i have no problems with the 115-113 diaz score...i could see on some interpretations of judging scoring that, i dont judge like that...... at most on my judging standards of effective, cleaner punching at most i think you give it 114-114.....115-113 is even bit of a stretch, but i can respect that.....i really thought paulie boxed his sox off and controled the fight about 80% of the time....its similar to the calzaghe-kessler 116-112, close o nthe cards but in reality it wasnt a close fight....thats the way i feel about paulie-diaz
Harder shots clearly went to Diaz, Paulie's jabs and uppercuts were landing pretty clean. They just didn't do much damage because Paulie obviously doesn't hit hard.
I had it 115 - 113 for Paullie but there are about 3 rounds that can go to either fighter so 116 -114 or 115 - 113 is very much acceptable to both sides. It can go either way. My only problem here is that 118 - 110 scorecard.
This is really what the problem is not that Paulie should have got the win but he was screwed teh scores should have been 115-113 either way
I don't like Paulie Malignaggi, he sucks. He has featherfist punches and has haircuts that remind me a lady, makes me wonder which way he swings... One thing though, he beat Diaz
i had it 116-112 paulie....pretty even going into 8 and then paulie took over the fight....thats what i saw...the best result for diaz i could see was a draw....
