    I'm not nuts, I'm realistic.

What opponents in the top 10 at 147 do you think Manny would be competitive with?

:patschOscar wasn't throwing punches because he was weight drained and dehydrated.

Agree with you here. Lets just think for a second just how much pacquiao has improved over the years. I think people still think of him as the fighter who drew with Juan Manuel Marquez the first time. Pac has got some serious skills know. Pac has become quite elusive now, not in the same way as mayweather though. Pac style of constantly moving and shooting straight counters would be far worse for a top WW than mayweather, who sits in the pocket.

Pacquiao showed some boxing ability in the second fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, in a fight a lot of people thought he lost. He did very well in the fight, but he still showed that he could be hit and he isn't really all that elusive.

A fighter who is elusive is a fighter who is hard to hit, but Hoya wasn't throwing anything back at Manny. He was dead at the weight, he couldn't respond or time his shots. This is painfully obvious when seeing how reluctant Hoya was. You're meaning to tell me Hoya couldn't get his shots off because of Pacquiao's speed? Oscar has been in the ring with far better 147lb fighters than Manny, and he more than held his own. It's time for The Golden Boy to hang them up.

Marquez countered Pacquiao's head off earlier this year, and I think Floyd does it even worse. I can't name one top 10 Welterweight who wouldn't beat Pacquiao.

I think its time for the fight we've all been waiting for. You who I'm talking about. The one to decide once and for all, who's the greatest fighter in the sport. That match-up being none other than Manny Pacquiao vs Joan Guzman.:D

I had JMM beating him last time so I would pick him.

I wouldnt expect Pac to beat the top welters like Margo and Cotto, but he is a lightweight for crying out loud he shouldnt need to.

    Absolutely.

but this thread is asking the question, and I'm just being realistic. I don't see anyway Manny beats any top 10 147lb fighter out there today.

You think Pacquiao beats Clottey, Mosley, Berto, Collazo, and Mayorga?

Margarito would laugh at the shots Pac was throwing - if he laughed at Cintron and Cotto he would at Pac, and will throw 1000 shots over the course of the fight.

    Can Pac take that?

Berto is the only name on the poll that you mention and i think Pacman would have a chance against a greenish Berto.

Well, he would lose to a lot of these guys purely on size, but he doesn't need to fight them, nevermind beat them. Also some of these guys need to grow balls and move up in weight btw.

    Could Berto take Pac's shots?

Collazo has a decent chin, Hatton and Mosley (espec) landed plenty but he was never in real danger of being taken out.

Clottey has a granite chin and high workrate, so will prob prevail

Mayorga was beating Mosley, but I put that down to the extra 7lbs and a long layoff, Shane's timing was awful - both of those would beat Pac.

The hysteria of a big fight really ****s up people's perspective.

Manny Pacquiao beats Berto. Just wow.

Margo. Too big, unhurtable and will corner Pac.

Cintron would feel Pac's 5 punch combinations. Cotto has 75% chance. Williams 50/50, Williams has been outboxed before by a much smaller guy and at WW he would be too skinny now.
