Who would be the greatest fighters if clinching even once got you DQ'd?

I agree with you, actually. Idk what OP is saying but what I have in my head is imagining which fighters, given their existing skillsets, would do well IF clinching simple wasn't allowed. It entertains the imagination. Would May weather use more head movement? Would Lara display more dancing around the ring and even slicker footwork? Would Rios just stay on the inside and keep on uppercutting nonstop? Idk, maybe. But it's all imagination.

Simple. Make it that if you clinch excessively you get DQ'd then. Strictly enforced.

If you can't tell who initiates clinches, then that just means you are blind or re****ed, me thinks both.

So the referee can see all things in the ring at all times, from every angle? Dude, have you ever competed in anything athletically in your life? And if you did, tell me: Were you the guy who cried at the referee over a perceived foul while play was still going? Probably.

Again: You still didn't answer the question about styles. What do you do if there is a style clash that is causing the fighters to get tangled up? DQ them both?

It's not hard. Just imagine fighters fighting without hugging like you sort of did. Tyson would have been really hard to stop.

I guess then all the fighters that are infamous for clinching are all wrongly accused because no one can ever tell who is the one clinching.

The referee would be required to make that judgement call in the ring. Do referees see all things, at every angle, at all times during a bout? Nope. Things are missed, including fouls.

Again: What do you do in the event there is a style clash, and the fighters are getting tangled up? DQ them both?

Sure thing, it's not hard, but what victor is saying is that clinching IS an essential part of the game for many boxers, or is at least a part of the game (and you know in boxing, any part is important). So that's why I was talking about switching up game plans a bit for each boxer, or having them tweaking their strategies.
What you're saying is essentially the same thing so I think I get it.

What I'M saying is that it would be better for you two to get your points across without flaming! :happy

No one automatically hugs someone because of style clashes. Clinching is literally holding your opponents arms or hugging him. Style clashes cause headbutts, not clinches. There are fighters who rarely clinch, a styles clash doesn't magically make them clinch at all, clinching is done purpose. Always. Headbutts due to style clashes are not. Or stepping on someone's foot, things like that, sure. Make sense dude, no one hugs automatically because of a style clash. You even know boxing?

Instead of instant DQ, a much more strictly enforced no clinching rule. Clinch excessively and you get DQ'd or lose points much more frequently. If you still can't see that, seriously, **** off, quit arguing for the sake of arguing.

name a fight where Triple G initiated a clinch as a pro. i think it's often reasonable/useful to clinch but when running &/or clinching is the primary strategy, boxers should be penalized until they stop or get disqualified. just like stalling in real wrestling.

Example: Klitschko should have been deducted multiple points and if he kept doing it, should have been dq'd versus Povetkin.

There sore on the clinches in the BKB there was a few the last fight though. It would defintely suit some fighters and some fighters might not have the same success. I think people wouldnt stay undefeated for long aswell.

That's a good example but your thread title going to the other extreme made your argument untenable. learn from your mistakes.
