He's very skilled, but I don't subscribe to the notion that he's some invincible boxing god. He uses a style just like any other fighter. He's hard to beat because he doesn't fight, and he's faced physically outmatched opponents. An Old Oscar and Judah made him look ordinary.

oh yeah, there's no denying (even scar!) that he's taken on a more negative style as he's moved up. he does what he does very well but he's beatable

you are forgetting Saint Whitaker who has an even lower workrate than locche, yet loses to no one here on ESB also Santa Tszyu who has a lucky shot victory vs Judah and never loses on ESB either.

I'll admit I haven't watched a lot of Floyd's early career, but he did seem to let his hands go alot more back then and take more risks. Too bad he's become 100% safety first.

whoa brother, you are a great poster but step on the brake a bit. pernell is the best defensive boxer ever and threw beautiful combos ESPECIALLY to the body. and kosta made a career before and after judah. super zab is light years more talented than him but never did anything with it...tszyu earned his praise

no argument there but i recommend watching: hernandez, n'dou, corrales (obviously), castillo 2, manfredy, chavez and augustus. you may be surprised

I've seen them all except Manfredy and Hernandez ( I think).

Ya I'm not disagreeing with you. He's a skilled a fighter, and he was a lot more impressive IMO in his earlier career. He's beatable though, as he has a style just like any other fighter, he just hasn't faced that right opponent. I think Pacquaio's going to give him a lot of problems.

completely agreed! every fighter has their achilles heel and pac looks to be that thorn in mayweather's side

you call em ordinary but are they just good fighters though....i mean Oscar say what you want about age but he didnt look that bad in his previous fight and he didnt have to lose any weight either not sayin he was prime but lots of fighters fight out of their prime and still are great fighters.

Zab no matter what you want to say is an EXTRAORDIANRY talent even on the likes of Floyd but yes he has his own issues but like you said he gave Floyd trouble in the early rounds.

So im saying could it be that maybe they are better than you give them credit for.

And if anyone here, including the very knowledgeable and refreshingly objective Scar, thinks that Floyd would've beaten a primed Oscar has their head clean up their ****in' ass.

By the way, that's Floyd's 2nd. best victory, IMO.

Castillo 1 was his best...best gift, that is.

Well, truth be known, only gift, but you get the point.

I am giving them credit :nut. That's basically my point, that when Floyd faced guys who weren't stylistically or physically outmatched, he was made to look pretty ordinary. A prime Oscar imo would beat FLoyd, and Judah could have beat Floyd if he had a better workrate and a stronger mind.

Thanks man. Ive just always thought that Spinks had a tricky style that could trip up Mayweather.
