He'd have to fight Bad Chad Dawson to get my respect!

  2. Joe beat's Pavlik, Taylor, Dawson, Woods, Froch, Bute and when Joe dominates Hopkins - the recognized LWH superchamp this argument will be moot.

These guys have to prove their worth to Joe; not the other way around. Everyone knows how good Calzaghe is - the non believers simply want Joe to fight these men so they can test their fighters worth; not Joe's.

    It is what it is.

Lets get this straight people. I do like Joe Calzaghe, very much so. He's a precocious talent & I watch his fights but I just feel there could have been so much more. I wasn't saying I necessarily thought he wasted ten years of his career but that is what the detractors say & I agree to a certain extent. I personally think he wasted five years of his career. Tocker Pudwill, need I say more?

Someone said the Jones fight wasn't an option. Why is this? I personally think it could have been made had Joe been more ambitious. He could have dumped Warren & the WBO but he didnt now people seem to want gloss over his career & detract from others, like Hopkins & Roy's, in an attempt to advance his all time standing.

Hopkins consolidated his division & made defences then jumped up to light heavy. Joe talked about it for years whilst fighting Ottke cast offs. I can almost hear the cries of "hater" now but nothing could be further from the truth. I'm just not going to ignore thosr barron years because he beat Jeff Lacy & Mikkel Kessler.

    Hopkins UD.

Joe will never have some peoples respect. Last year all Joe had to do was fight and beat Kessler convincingly to get respect, he did just that and now Kessler is a Eurobum. I will agree that Joe has let Frank Warren take the **** with the match making but he has fought some very tough and good guys. You don't have to be a fan of Joe's but if you can't respect his skills then you're a hater.

I rate Calzaghe the second best in the world but he still has to beat someone like Hopkins and that's it - he doesn't really have to fight anybody else - if he wants to make good money, he should beat Bernard and demand a couple of fights on home soil such as RJJ late 08 and Dawson early 09. Full respect for Calzaghe for living up to his word, now he doesn't need to kayo Bernard, just outpunch him and win by points.
