Who would draw more buys, Kirkland or Lara?

I'm going with Kirkland being that to casuals Kirkland is exciting, whereas Lara is a cure for insomina.

Also big butch rug muncher Ann Wolfe will ham it up on All Access, whereas Lara dosen't even speak much English.

That's not what I asked. I asked who would do bigger PPV numbers. Kirkland or Lara?

Laras last two most recent fights can sell the canelo fight on how both fighters did with Trout and Angulo. you cant say angulo vs lara was a sleeper. mex vs cub. put it on all access build up with trash talking. it will sell.

oh and Lara has been elevated the WBA champ, canelos former belt so it will be a title belt :deal:bbb

Ann Wolfe putting a strap on, on and doing Kirkland will wipe the floor with anything Lara does on All Access.

And during Lara's fight with Trout, Showtime lots a **** ton of viewers who turned over to watch Kirkland fight Tapia on HBO

Lara might be a better fighter, but I doubt he is a bigger draw than Kirkland is.

    James Kirkland - 32 - 1 (38ko)

    Noteable wins :

Carlos Molina - Molina spoiled until being dropped at the end of the round where his corner came in the ring early and thus he was disqualified. Molina then went onto win the IBF Super Welterweight title

Alfredo Angulo - Both fighters on the canvas in the first round, Kirkland wears Angulo down and stops him in the 6th

Brian Vera - Having only lost once by KO to Contender finalist Jadon Cordington who also managed to drop Sakio Bika (Current WBC Supermiddleweight champion) Vera went onto beat Undefeated Andy Lee by stoppage until losing via 8th round stoppage to Kirkland.

Went onto beat Sergio Mora 2x, lost a Lee rematch, Pushed Chavez Jr to the limit and lost the rematch

    Noteable losses -

Just the one in Nobuhiro Ishida who although was seen as light hitting managed to stop Kirkland in 1 round dropping him 3 times . . . Ishida went onto battle in competitive fights against Williams and Pirog before being stopped by Golovkin inside 3

Fan Base : American / Texan

To the non casual fan : Cherry pick by Alvarez
To the casual fan : Texan showdown! Mexico vs USA! USA! USA!
To hardcore fans : 70/30 to Alvarez. if he gets caught he could be in trouble but he could also blast him out inside a round

I am a huge fan of Erislandy Lara (only person i see beating floyd below 160) and I would watch a Lara/Canelo fight purely because Lara would be a heavy favourite in my eyes to win and would put on a cuban boxing clinic however he doesnt have a massive fan base and although same can be said about Kirkland there are a few major factors

    - Kirkland is American
    - Kirkland is from Texas where Alvarez has a hispanic following
    - Kirkland has more power than Lara (more attractive to the casuals)

I wasnt sure at first but Kirkland would deffo sell more purely based more on who he is as opposed to what hes done

Kirkland vs Canelo in Texas would draw huge numbers and he would beat the brakes off Canelo worse than Jersey Boy.

SHO prob wouldn't chance putting either guy on PPV Vs. Alvarez...
+ GBP's ain't working w/SMS Promotions anytime soon anyway so a Kirkland bout is out of the question.

(Lucky for Kirkland, He gets KTFO)

By default... Lara bout wins this.

Obvious winner tho would be a Mayweather rematch, A Fight Vs. the winner of Cotto/Martinez bout (Sergio).

kirkland will do better numbers but lara is the rightful opponent to chose.

ranked higher, better fighter overall and a better test and proving point for canelo to cement himself at the best junior middleweight not named floyd mayweather

kirkland would be a fun fight while it lasted tho..

based off what? id imagine he is a favorite over lara but i would not be shocked if people have lara slightly favored

    but kirkland!?
