His win over Wright only proved he can smother opponents with his flurries and combinations, but doesn't answer the question whether he can take punishments from legit 160er who can really punch.

Abraham, Pavlik, Taylor will make him bleed.

Heck, I even think Miranda can take him out.

He is a freak of nature but he has not proven yet that he should be the favorite over the fighters I mentioned above.

I think Pavlik would beat him. Pavlik negates all his advantages. What does PW have going for him? Height? Pavlik's just as tall (maybe taller). Work rate? Don't forget that Pavlik through 700 punches in a 9-round fight with Rubio, and 90 punches a round against Miranda. I don't think PW would overwhelm KP. Pavlik would do his usual thing: back PW up. PW would either have to oblige and spend a night on the ropes getting pounded like JT and Miranda, or he'd have to stand his ground and trade with Pavlik. In that event, Pavlik has the superior chin and power to leave PW sprawled on the canvas.

Whether Queen Arthur can beat him is a difficult one to call. If AA curls up in a ball as usual, the fight could be a repeat of Winky vs. Williams. Yes, AA has devastating power, but he doesn't have good punch output and Williams can slip punches very well against an opponent going backwards - we saw that with Winky. I think AA is too lazy to cope with the pressure, and he'd end up not connecting enough to do damage. There's no way AA would win on points. It's certainly possible he'd land a big swing, but I think PW has the consistency to avoid those looping shots and outwork AA.

    Pavlik KO 10 Williams
    Williams UD Abraham

Marquez didn't have the power to hurt Abraham so we saw a totally different Abraham. He came out of his shell and become offensive minded. Paul throws lots of punches, but they are 'arm punches' and I dont' think they will keep Abraham off of him. I'd need to see a fight with PW throwing some meaningful blows for me to see him beating Abraham.

Kelly Pavlik is the only fighter below 168 that I see giving Paul Williams trouble. He is tall and rangy in his own right and his power should be enough to keep Williams at bay.
