God Camacho focused would have been scary.
    Toney as well.
Ruben would have had like 100 more knockouts.
Kirkland Laing and his countryman John would have more then likely knocked some big names off.
Morrison as well could have surprised some big names - talked to someone that was around him when he was starting to get big and they said you couldn't keep the ladies AWAY no matter what you tried.
He told me that ladies would actually show up to his training camps just wanting to sleep with him!!

I don't think so. However, there is an in depth and excellently written biography called 'Born to Box: the Extraordinary Story of Nipper Pat Daly'. I highly recommend it - it's one of the best Boxing books out there.

Golota, I believe he would have been top 5 all time HW if he wasn't so weak mentally.

Glad to see Griffo mentioned twice already because that is who I came to add. This was a guy who was arguably capable of beating every legend of his day -- Gans, Lavigne, Dixon, McAuliffe, etc. -- if he only applied himself. I remember sifting through the newspaper accounts when I was writing about Griffo and seeing in one of his fights with Dixon that he was so crafty that it was reported that he made Dixon miss with every punch he threw for the first four rounds. Griffo basically fought for booze money, which is a real boxing tragedy.

Honestly never heard of Pat Daley before but I’ve just read up on him on him, absolutely fascinating.

    Thanks for posting this.

Oscar De La Hoya is an ATG who accomplished more than your average ATG despite having a career full of distractions. It is evident that his fame was a disservice to his career as he was constantly chasing women, partying, doing drugs, venturing into other businesses that distracted him from being dedicated 100% to a sport that requires all your blood sweat and tears. Things like his real estate endeavors, singing career, philanthropy, promotional company, golfing, and addiction to sex and drugs shortened his career.

Jose Luis Lopez is the first to come to mind. The dude had the chin, power, and speed to become one of the great fighters of his era. I don't know what it was that kept him from buckling down and becoming one of the all-time greats. It appeared the guy just didn't like to train hard. He always looked soft. No, I am not saying that he should have had the body of a Greek god but he sure didn't look weight drained at any time in his career. He probably could have fought at 140 in his early years and naturally filled out as he got older. Anyhow, it just sucks since he appeared to have all the tools to become great.
