It seemed like Marquez was a damn good choice to me. The ppv did extremely well, he made a lot of money, and he got to knock off the rust without putting himself in danger of losing.

Berto would've been a nice test. Mayweather going back for his WBC belt.

    I agree.

Mayweather was accomodating to JMM because in Marquez you had a chance to test just how sharp he still was against a great but "undersized" fighter who did not have the punching power to end a fight on a mistake by Mayweather.

From Mayweather's standpoint, I thought Marquez was the perfect fighter for Mayweather to determine just where he was at mentally as far as puttin his skills together and performing.

  7. As much of a mismatch as it was, Marquez earned some well-deserved money and fame. I don't have any problem with it.

I dont think mosley is who you want to be in the ring with for a "tuneup" And i personally dont see how people can say mayweather dragged him from a lower weight class up 2, when mayweather didnt ask for marquez, marquez asked for him. Mismatch? yes. Floyds fault? no. If floyd challenged oscar at JMW, then oscar didnt drag him up. If he challenges Martinez, then Martinez didnt drag him up. Marquez challenged a WW, at a WW's weight. He took himself up

Some of you people are just plain ****in pathetic.

After a two year layoff he's just supposed to jump in te ring with the top WW at the time in Shane Mosely? Or jump right into the ring with a guy unlik anyne he has fought in PW? Or perhaps go right into one of the biggest fights in history vs. Pac?

STFU and GTFOH with that dumb ****. Marquez was just fine for a tune-up.

100% agree. With the added bonus of JMM being a common opponent to add anticipation to the Pac matchup. JMM was the best choice.
