Dawson. Speed, power, activity and fair defense. Few if any of Calzaghe's opponents had all these attributes(at least not at the time he fought them).

Take Pavlik out, Calzaghe wins that fight. He'd confuse the yank, though wouldn't win as decisively as BHop.

Abraham would be a fascinating fight, Calzaghe fought no-one like him. I'd bet on Calzaghe though.

Dirrell is awkward, but I'd def like Calzaghe there.

Dawson has size and good defence, but I could see Calzaghe landing enough on him to squeak a decision. def 50:50 though,

Ward would change tactics a lot and I think that would win enough rounds against a confused Calzaghe.

So, Ward - but three of them would have a good chance, I don't think Dirrell or Pavlik would have nearly enough.

    Calzaghe easily outworks Dawson IMO.

Best chance would go to Ward simply because he is clever in the ring and can use fantastic angles in the ring to confuse his opponents. He'd need to be incredibly sharp to offset Calzaghe's insane workrate for 12 rounds.

Dawson is too methodical to beat Calzaghe, I'm sorry!

I'd favor Calzaghe over all of them though.

I too would favour Calzaghe over all of them, but Dawson would have the best chance.

There isn't a chance in hell I could see Ward beating Calzaghe, but wait for it, there will be several dozen posters in this thread soon claiming S.O.G would school him.

Nah. Maybe in a few years Ward, but based on Kessler fight, he doesn't beat Joe.

Dont think any of them would beat him, Calzaghe always knew how to up his game and alter his attacks to win, remember Calzaghe was past his best when beating Lacy and Kessler, but im basing this on the Calzaghe that retired and I still cant see him losing

Dirrell - would be to negative, and if the slower Froch could edge a decision ive no doubt Calzaghe would beat him easily, I know styles make fights but...

Ward - seems a good fighter but has been dropped and hurt by much lesser fighters than Calzaghe. Calzaghe showed the blueprint on how to beat Kessler remember.. Also Ward dosent have the power to trouble Calzaghe & I think Calzaghes fast combinations with clever aggresion would overwelm Ward from the middle rounds onwards

Abraham - has a good defence but im sure Calzaghe would outwork him, taking some shots in the process but landing alot more on the whole for a UD

Dawson - this could be a good fight, but I still see a Calzaghe victory, Dawson struggled when G Johnson put pressure on him and Calzaghe would apply alot more and land combinations. I think Calzaghe would keep Dawson running on the back foot and win a decision

Pavlik - Calzaghe would be too fast and win a wide UD

It might be that Ward doesn't have enough yet, but I'm pretty convinced that he's gonna be a bit special.

On the level he's at right now, maybe I should change my opinion to Dawson.

I didn't vote for Dawson because i wanted to make it a super middleweight affair. Dawson would have a great chance in reality, but Calzaghe would too. I voted for Ward, only because i think he is the best out of the super middles now.
