It was a great performance, especially considering Floyd's age. But Floyd's resume doesn't get enhanced everytime Canelo wins.

We as fans rate wins based on what we see and what we know. We look at the different circumstances etc.

We don't debate using BoxRec statistics.

It wouldn't even be possible would it?

    What would the weights be?

    Get real.

    That's not what happened.

    Let's get some perspective here.

I've watched Floyd his entire career. Again, we know he's one of the greatest fighters of all time. But Canelo is in his prime right now. Forget his little foray into the LHW division last night, his peak weight is now between MW-SMW. It's highly unlikely that he stays in the LHW division.

No version of Floyd would spank this current version of Canelo no matter how many times you go and watch their 2013 fight.

Canelo is now a different fighter.

He's physically and mentally a different fighter.

    Fighters change.

    They improve.

    They decline.

Let's get it right, Floyd would NOT face a young version of Canelo at JMW. He had to have his C-W.

So let's look at things from a logical standpoint.

If he wouldn't fight a young Canelo at JMW, he certainly wouldn't have fought a peak version of Canelo ABOVE that weight.

Which means that it's an absolute fantasy to think that Floyd would/could have schooled ANY version of Canelo.

    Which was after Floyd said:

"We don't care what he rehydrates to. Weight is not a factor. It's skills that pay the bills"

    You know.

    Again, get some perspective.

    1. Today's version of Canelo would never stand off of Floyd and show him as much respect as what he did back in 2013. That in itself would make it a closer fight.

    2. Floyd would never have fought Canelo or anybody else at MW.

    3. He wouldn't even fight Canelo at 154 back in 2013.

You are the sort of fan which garners Floyd hate.

How can you celebrate what Leonard Ellerbe said in that video?

This is everything that is wrong with boxing.

You aren't even a fan if you support that absolute BS.

Making out that he's some sort of mastermind.

    No.

BEFORE any official negotiations took place, Canelo said that he could fight at a C-W. He said that because he wanted the fight. But because of that, during the official negotiations, Ellerbe wouldn't back down despite the following 3 things:

    1. It was for the JMW belts.

    2. Floyd had already fought at JMW.

    3. Floyd had already publicly said that he didn't care what Canelo weighed, as it wasn't relevant.

    What a joke.
