It was a great fight to start off the year 2010. One was an undefeated quick explosive fighter getting his first big test in a unification fight against the legend and conquerer of Antonio Margarito. Had the fight taken place when it should have, who do you got?

(Let's look at this fight for what it would have been at that time, not for what it is now, and judging off of where their careers took them.)

In 2010 this was a huge fight with major implications in the then stacked WW division.

I honestly was hyped for this bout. I thought Mosley was gonna take the overrated Berto to the cleaners, too bad the earthquake in Haiti hindered the fight.

If the fight would of taken place like it was supposed to, Mosley UD. Too bad it didn't happen, that year lay off took something from Mosley, we could of gauged how much he had left in the tank after exposing Bricks Margarito.

That was suppose to be the fight that was going to set Berto up for Mayweather if he had of won. Mosley clearly had something left because he staggered Floyd twice. After seeing that Berto can be dropped when hit clean those punches would have knocked him out or got him TKO'd.

    Mosley 10rnd TKO .

I never thought highly of Berto .

Even when Berto was undefeated beating every man they put In front of him , I used to think to myself This man is not the next big thing .

    I don't see it .

    Ortiz proved me right .

What I can say about Berto is he's very likable outside the ring and extremely durable inside the ring .

the earthquake in Haiti didn't stop this fight

manny chickening out of a Floyd fight and heading to dallas for clottey stopped this fight.....

Floyd was left with no name opponent and uncle al pulled a power move for Floyd....they used the earthquake as an excuse.....and that's how berto got a Floyd fight....it was a favor return by Floyd and uncle al....

pierre garcon was hit by the earthquake too and still played in the superbowl.....I realize its different than canceling a fight.....but berto could have proceeded easily.

Berto pulled out so he could be matched up with Floyd's farewell fight 6 years later?

I agree that the earthquake was an excuse to avoid the Mosley fight though. If he was really distraught over the earthquake, he would have fought and used that platform to plea for help for the Haitian people.

i didnt say that berto did it so he could get a fight 6 year later...in fact..im sure al cut andre a nice check long before that for stepping aside so floyd could fight shane....but they did berto a favor because they remembered the one he did for them many years earlier.....floyd/shane really helped floyd continue to build his star

I was glad this fight got canceled. Such a crossroads fight doesn't happen anymore so why should these two fighters had to do it. Just to be on HBO, not worth it. I'd have favored Mosley but the fight didn't benefit either of the fighter's careers. The earthquake in Haiti was some serious ****, can't fault Berto for pulling out of the fight over that.

The guy that lost to Victor Ortiz isn't beating the guy that fought those first 3-4 rounds against Mayweather.

Jusus f*ckin christs you're ridiculous :grazy: Were you even watching boxing in 2010? The SSM fight did nothing for Floyd's popularity, as Floyd had already surpassed Shane at that point.

Not to mention saying the Earthquake wasn't the reason Berto pulled out? Same ol troll....
